I haven't seen much of this show, but it does seem good. Does anyone know why the Buz Murdock character left after 3 seasons?

I haven't seen much of this show, but it does seem good. Does anyone know why the Buz Murdock character left after 3 seasons? I remember it Daisy, and recall that it was a pretty good show. But it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it. I remember the cool Corvette, the two dude’s on a perpetual road trip, and that the one guy went on to later star in Adam 12, but not much else. From IMDB trivia: www.imdb.com/title/tt0053534/trivia?ref_=tt_trv_trv

Yes, this is one of my dreams I think is to move around, driving a sweet vehicle and being on a long road trip meeting different people. If only, imagine how fun this could be. In theory anyways, I'm sure in real life it would be a nightmare. haha From IMDB trivia: I hadn't checked out imdb, thanks for this. He seemed like a cool character from what I can tell. I'm sure television actors got paid very little back then so I can imagine he was upset with his contract. Would be interesting to know what they were getting paid per episode back then as compared to now. The difference is likely crazy. Thanks for the reply!

Daisy Glad to be of some help Daisy. I looked through the trivia section, but didn’t see anything about salary, but I’m sure it’s out there somewhere. But as you say, actors were paid significantly less at that time than today. I’m pretty sure that I recall reading before, that Jerry Mather’s made around $500 a week on the set of leave it to beaver, which while far better than the typical salary for the time, was also far less pay than actors today receive. The road trip lifestyle might not be so bad, but it would be much better if you had a monthly income, and didn’t have to work odd jobs as did these guys. I’d also swap out the Corvette for a motorhome But no reason why you can’t tow a vintage Corvette behind it

One of the producers got killed while driving behind a truck that was carrying those giant metal spools and one of them got loose and flew into his windshield. Killing him instantly.
