It was for hair and makeup. That really isn't a big deal.

All I'm saying is that it's not really a big deal. There were only 3 films nominated in that category anyway. That goes for the people on Twitter who are angry about it winning that particular Oscar as well. It's not a big deal. It doesn't indicate quality by any means.

DC's Viola Davis also just took home an award. What an amazing actress that DC added to their Oscar-winning stable.

Too bad the MCU is winning the only battle that actually matters: pleasing its audience. In all fairness, I'd say the DCEU also has a one-up over the MCU in terms of diversity, which Is definitely say is a category that matters to a degree. The MCU is starting to become more diverse itself with a Black Panther movie, a Captain Marvel movie, and the supporting cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming, but for the first several years, it was almost exclusively a white man show.

Too bad that qualifier counts for absolutely nothing.

Because racial or gender diversity does not automatically translate to good story-telling. In fact, if Wonder Woman is a good movie, it will be first ever good live-action theater released superhero film with a female lead. Supergirl, Elektra, Catwoman. All crap, because the filmmakers got so hung up on the fact they had a female lead they forgot to tell a good story.
Black Panther being black is not the reason I'm excited he's been introduced in the MCU. I'm excited for the Black Panther movie because T'Challa is FRIKKIN' AWESOME!

When did I say that it was an indication of good storytelling? All I said is that it's a good thing to have.

How has the DCEU really been that more diverse than Marvel? Because of the Wonder Woman movie?

The top billed actors of SS were a black man and a woman, Aquaman is played by an actor of Polynesian descsent, with his movie being directed by a Korean man, Flash is played by a bisexual guy, and yes, there is also a Wonder Woman movie.

When did I say that it was an indication of good storytelling? All I said is that it's a good thing to have. Only if it's well-done. Otherwise, it's just pandering and insulting to the people they're trying to be inclusive towards.

I don't really see it as "pandering" anymore than getting a white man as the leading role in a movie is pandering. You can have a bad movie that still has a diverse cast that isnt insulting to minorities.

Then why do superhero film have such an infamous history of bad films when it comes to minorities and women leads? Getting it right is obviously harder than it looks. In any case, regardless of which company has or less diversity, Marvel is kicking DC's ass left, right, and center and will continue to do so. Whereas the DCEU has a steep uphill climb to rid itself of the original franchise sins its committed with a morose, unlikable Superman, a murderous, unlikable Batman, and a joke of a Suicide Squad.

Academy Award winning Suicide Squad.*
Take your racism to your next Klan meeting, RacistRaptor. Your hatred of minorities has no place here.
