What did you think about the Eugene episode tonight?
How long before Negan finds out Eugene lies?
What ultimately happens to Eugene?

I think spineless Eugene really is with Negan now. He is enjoying his status and his pickles. I wouldn't put it past Negan to bring Eugene along on a run to Alexandria and ask him "What's your name?" in front of them and maybe have him do something awful to prove he is with Negan now.

Eugene has his flaws, but I feel he is loyal to his friends. Negan has definitely pumped up his ego and self-esteem. He is playing along to stay alive and buy more time. Maybe he will sabatoge Negan and escape with a couple of those honeys!! (He will at least take the Atari)! (And the pickles)!

After his display of bravery in Episode 6, Eugene is 100% loyal to Rick & co - imo. He is playing along and re-creating the persona of the Human Genome Project nerd and, of course, the cowardly but brilliant pedantic ass.
And they are lapping it up....

I mean even Gabriel has, i'm not saying Eugene hasn't done anything useful but has he done anything loyal?

Not sure what you mean loyal vs useful, he has never done anything against the group or has been in a position to turn on them. I don't think he is now. He's just playing along to stay alive. When Glenn and Tara first separated off, he turned around to get back to them while Abe was sleeping because he said they were good people. He finally admitted his lie because he felt that it would endanger them all if they proceeded. He got Tara out of the warehouse after she was injured in the explosion. He was able to pick up Glenn and Nicholas after Noah was killed. He fought with the group after the herd invaded Alexandria. He drove the RV to distract the Saviors. Not too bad for a coward.

Geezer is right about Eugene..The consistency of his character would be that he is just playing along to both protect himself and maybe even get in far enough with Negan to help out the group.. The only problem I have is what the writers intend to do with the situation. Could they decide that it's better to try to be shocking and have him betray everyone for a little comfort and admiration and pickles while knowing most of us will figure it's all an act? I hope not.
