I know it's rude to say this but I really don't care about those who died which happened to be publicists, cinematographers, sound mixers, etc. I know there were more actors and actresses that died this year they weren't able to include.
I have to respectfully disagree. It means as much to me to see an American sound pioneer like Richard Portman remembered as it does a legendary French cinematographer like Raoul Coutard. They can never include everyone in this segment, but I find the Academy usually puts up a heartfelt tribute. I just wish the Lifetime Achievement Awards could be brought back to the main ceremony.
