Sadly I just can't get into Frasier. I don't like the character. His co-stars save the show, IMO.

i found it quite amusing at first, though like most American sitcoms it went on too long, I would have ended it when Diane left. Frasier I thought was funnier though. I have to disagree with you, I mean i do think season 1-5 are the best. But season 6-9 are in my opinion also very good. But season 10 and 11 are a lot weaker than season 1-9. It should probably have ended with season 9. I think Cheers season 1-5 was better than Frasier. But Frasier was better than Cheers season 6-11

I like "Cheers" and "Frasier". I just got tired though of "Frasier" and all his different failed relationship attempts on the show. Cliff Klavin had better luck w/ women it seemed than Frasier had on his own spin-off show.

I didn't particularly like Diane and/or the way Long played her. I think it might have been better with a different actress, but I can't think who. Kirstie Alley was funnier but a step down if anything. That whole season with Robin Concord or whatever his name is was a washout.

I think Sam Malone is one of the most intriguing TV characters ever. I didn't think Sam was a great character. He's a womanizer obsessed about his hair. OK, anything else? I'll wager more people tuned in for Carla vs Cliff and Cliff and Norman than Sam/Diane/Rebecca. That was where the show's heart truly was, in my opinion. Even Frasier and Woody were funnier than Sam. I suppose Sam is to an extent the straight man, but even so.

I suppose Sam is to an extent the straight man, but even so. I think that's the point of his character. He is a product of what men from that era think they should act/be like. His womanizing, ego, and vanity are often explored and leads to great storytelling, especially in later seasons. There's a reason why Cheers ended with Ted Danson quitting.

I thought Cheers was a good show. I am glad that it lasted as long as it did. I thought all of the actors did a good job on this show. Cheers is one of my favorite 1980s Tv shows.

For those in southwestern Ontario, Canada, CHCH-TV in Hamilton airs Cheers weekdays at 5:30EST.
I was a fan. I'm pretty sure I watched the last episode with my family.

If Cheers were made today, it never would've lasted more than one season because the ratings weren't through the roof right off the bat. It was a great show
