It's a church established by Anton LaVey back in the 60's and it attracted numerous celebrities, including Jayne Mansfield and Sammy Davis, Jr. I doubt Lowtack86 is a member. Most likely he is being a smartass like FilmFlaneur was by saying he worships Cthluhu (a fictional god invented by author HP Lovecraft in the early 20th Century).

There have been Satanists on this board who didn't have complimentary things to say about LaVey and his bunch. He died some years ago. His daughter Karla is still alive but she doesn't run the Church of Satan anymore. They are rather visible as Satanists go.

I only knew one person who was but he was very dark and disturbed person. That's kind of how I see satanism in general.

I had no idea, that might make him the only person to convert to both Laveyan Satanism and Judaism at the same time.

When he died there was a tabloid article saying that the Satanism was the only thing in his life that he had deep regrets about. He dropped out later but for a while there he had the red-painted fingernail and attended the rituals. As far as I know he never regretted the Judaism.

that's not r'lyeh, r'lyeh is off the coast of my glorious country. No, just turn left at the Mountains of Madness and there it is.
No, that is Antarctica, R'lyeh is in the southern ocean, some Cthulhu worshipper you are, I bet you don't even want to get eaten first.

Can anyone remember who did that list so I can give them credit? Was it Sulla?

It was the great man Sulla's work. He did one for 2015 (which you have quoted) and one for 2016. Edit: I think he also did one many years ago but I don't know if he has saved that one. And he has also done list of users by country/continent.

I see his posts on the music board from time to time. Edit: by the way, I'm an agnostic atheist, for the record.

I believe that most religious and philosophical traditions around the world have value and agree with each other more than they agree with any "atheist" point of view. Great minds think alike. Small minds "think" alike too, but that's a pity. They are not capable of really thinking at all, but must follow some crowd or other. You perhaps saw recently here that small minds tend to see "inconsistencies" where there are actually "complexities." One actually said "It generally stops the conversation, which was my goal. It gives me a chance to change the subject or walk away," believing he was certain he found some contradiction. Now atheists here might claim they're the mature, independent sort and fully capable of deep thought. It does not show though. They still depend on "science" to solve problems it can't even begin to address.
