Who was missing from the list? There are always a few each year but it seemed to me that there were many celebrities that died in 2016 and the In Memoriam section seemed kind of short and filled with people like make up artists. At first, I was upset that David Bowie who did such movies as Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence , The Man Who Fell to Earth , Christiane F (where he played himself in German concert footage), and Labyrinth as well as a myriad was not on the list but I realized while making this post that he was honored in the 2016 Oscars because he died on January 10, 2016. Alan Rickman was similarly honored last year. I re-watched him in Michael Collins as Eamon De Valera a few days ago which is a really good movie (if you want a film recommendation) but I was upset at Julia Robert's character. Anyway, I came across a news item that said that Patricia Arquette was upset at the exclusion of her sister Alexis. So any more In Memoriam snubs out there? EDIT: This low res video shows the 2017 In Memoriam segment from last night. Here is another video that shows more people.

Robert Vaughn was omitted. I believe that was because he was better known for the classic TV series The Man From U.N.C.L.E. than his roles in such films as The Magnificent Seven(1960) and Bulitt.

Was Mary Tyler Moore included? Yes, she was. I didn't watch the show but I saw the "In Memoriam" segment online. They had a short clip from Ordinary People.

I added the 2017 In Memoriam video in my OP as well as a video that shows a more complete list From the second video, I see Theresa Saldana (from Raging Bull) and Miguel Ferrer (the son of Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney and notable from the movie Robocop) were also excluded. Is the second video missing anyone? Also, if you want to comment on any passed away celebrities from the past year to Feb 26, 2017, please do so. But remember that they are dead so please be civil about it .

But he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, somewhere along the line. And come on, he was the lead in "Teenage Caveman!"

Considering that Debbie Reynolds was probably the most famous movie star who died last year, I'm surprised they just showed a shot of her. Blink, and you would've missed it. They gave more coverage to her daughter.

Tony Burton who played Apollo Creed's trainer Tony in the Rocky movies. He also played Larry Durkin, the garage owner, in The Shining.
Miguel Ferrer was also missing.

Actually the "In Memoriam" at the Oscars is for anyone who died between the last Oscar telecast and this one, not just people who died in 2016. That's why David Bowie and Alan Rickman, who died early in 2016, weren't included this year. They were in the in memoriam segment pf last year's Oscars. Mary Tyler Moore died Jan 25th, 2017 and she was included.

That makes sense. I hate that website - I'm on google chrome and it won't let me navigate the photos.

Nothing against Nancy Reagan but she had very few film credentials IMHO.

Thanks to Rycki for the link. Chrome with Adblock doesn't work with that website but IE (with no adblock) works with it. The photogallery is here. The problem is that most of the info on the photos is very sparse. Some notables I noticed were Burt Kwouk (who did the Pink Panther films and was memorable to me for the tv show Tenko), Charmian Carr (from the Sound of Music), David Huddleton (from The Big Lebowski and Blazing Saddles), Fritz Weaver (from Marathon Man and Creepshow), William Peter Blatty (who wrote The Exorcist), Peter Shaffer (who wrote Amadeus and Equus), Alan Young (who was Wilbur on Mr Ed but also did The Time Machine with Yvette Mimeux and Rod Taylor). I noticed Richard Davalos had also died. This has a special meaning to me because it relates to the first movie I ever asked on IMDb's INTK board regarding a woman whose car breaks down and she goes to a house filled with strange characters. The movie was The Cabinet of Caligari (1962) and it was solved by Hutch48. Richard Davalos had an important role in that film. I'm going to mark this as solved but if anyone wants to use this thread to comment on the people that passed away, please do so. But please be civil as Just1Hitch has done.
