This thread seems misplaced, like it should be in a movie forum.

There's a bizarre classic French movie named LAST YEAR AT MARIENBAD. It's one of the most indescribably confusing movies that I've ever seen. The coolest part for me was this little puzzle game that one character kept playing. It's called Nim and it's played with matchsticks. It's pretty fun to play with someone else but there's a website where you play against the computer. Check it out and have fun. www.archimedes-lab.org/game_nim/play_nim_game.html

Adrian Paul's "Nemesis Game" (2003). I think that "Resurrection," (1999) with Christopher Lambert also falls into this category.

The Ninth Gate (1999), sort of.
And my least favorite: The Last of Sheila (1973)

Does Foul Play (1978) count? I've always loved that movie.

I just recently saw this. It's an excellent little picture.

I'm not sure that I'd call it a movie "in which a series of puzzles must be solved"--there's really only one puzzle that must be solved (who's killing them off one by one?)--but, if you mean the '45 version, it is an excellent picture.

Batman the Movie.
Batman: Look at this pair of joking riddles.
Chief O'Hara: What does a turkey do when he flies upside down?
Robin: He gobbles up!
Chief O'Hara: Of course.
Batman: And, number two...
Commissioner Gordon: What weighs six ounces, sits in a tree and is very dangerous?
Robin: A sparrow with a machine gun!
Commissioner Gordon: Yes, of course.
