I think we'll get a 6th Pirates of the Caribbean movie before we get a 6th Transformers.

If they do, it would probably be on a budget much smaller than $230 million.

POTC5 ended with a good teaser. It left me wanting more. I know I'd go see a POTC6 if Bloom and Knightley were in it. At the same time POTC5 might be a good place to end the franchise. Leave the fans wanting more, instead of going on until everyone wishes they would just stop.

Of course they will. It's a franchise and there is money to be made.

Will they? Probably, because Depp seems to need money to cover his lifestyle.
Should they? If they keep it under 2hrs, go for it.

Should they? If they keep it under 2hrs, go for it. I remember a review for The Lone Ranger saying that if Gore Verbinski made sure his movies didn't clock longer than 90 minutes, he'd be hailed as the new James Cameron. Or was it Spielberg? At any rate, I agree with that in some sense;I think people might have liked The Lone Ranger better. Curse of the Black Pearl had a simple story and was better for it but it still clocked at over 140 minutes. I guess he felt obligated to pad out the sequels afterwards and just couldn't shake it off.

I think we'll get a 6th Pirates of the Caribbean movie before we get a 6th Transformers. Well technically the 6th Transformers film is already in production; the spinoff based around Bumblebee. I'm actually kinda interested in it because of the actors/creative talent involved and because it's set in the 80s. I'm hoping for a good summer blockbuster style 80s film. Also, the budget is supposedly around 70 million, which gives it a real chance to be profitable. I think if it does well we could expect a trilogy and then a reboot of the main franchise.
