IMDB is one of the few places where everyone from all over the world can post and get media information on the dime. I mean, they have to know how much actual bank in people revenue they are losing. The reason why their site stands period above Mojo, Rotten Tomatoes is their traffic. How do they make money if they don't get the hits? It's a joke for them to think this a good idea. People will always wise up and create something better. They should have thought of that before they closed the best feature on their site. No one is that dumb. There has to be a crooked agenda behind this move.

An old IDMB past time. "Corrected it for ya." Actually I was more thinking of the harsh reality of it, but yes, old passtime.

It's be trying to shake those off but we can try.
Pretty sure they had an agenda from the start, based on what the ex-employee confessed.

I've already emotionally detached from IMDb and I've been using it for 12 years. My first account was lost when they did the e-mail log-in change and my newer one is linked to my facebook.

I've already emotionally detached from IMDb and I've been using it for 12 years. My first account was lost when they did the e-mail log-in change and my newer one is linked to my facebook. The moment I read imdb's announcement, immediately I sent them all to hell. I had gone to the boards to read about a movie I had just seen, and I got so @#$##! ANGRY about the announcement, that I forgot all about the movie or the board, and instead I started to read and google around, to see what the hell was going on. Then on reddit, some guys linked an ongoing thread on imdb, started by this miserable maggot "thomas porter", an imdb exec from what I learned. So I went in to imdb and I saw the thread. You should have seen how fkin casual and snug he 'sounded' (from the text), as he told everybody to basically fuck off and deal with it, to go on and join facebook instead, and to be merry with the crowd and a finger up the rear. I (almost) couldn't help what I felt then. That moment I didn't think of my posts, my threads or my account. I knew my data wasn't saved. I knew how much of it there was. I knew what they might try if I faced them directly, but I said "A big F U all of you" and then I just let them have it. Rather than posting angry or irate 'cuss words', which believe it or not I don't like to use and I try to avoid as much as possible, instead I made an oddly calm reply and I told that bastard thomas porter maggot that he and ALL those with him, along with anyone else who thinks like him, are nothing but a pool of sCUM over the face of the earth, for even thinking such an evil fucking plan. I don't remember the exact words I used, but it was something to that effect for sure. I do remember the word "sCUM" very clearly, though, because I typed it precisely that way. I must have done something right, because the moment I tried to make the next post, as a supporting reply to another very angry user, I could no longer do it. Soon after that, I learned that my account, my posts and my data got all wiped out right there and then. My internet address got blocked too, and it remains blocked even today, as far as I know it. I wouldn't know for sure if it is blocked or not right now and I don't care, because I don't need to go there again anyway; what the hell for. My account had about two to three weekly posts in average, off and on, over the course of the years since 2002 when I created it and up until now. But that's no problem anyway, because I didn't post so heavily, compared to some really good posts I read over there every now and then. Now imagine those who dedicated big parts of their lives to imdb, making it a special part of their existence. Going there to the boards day in and day out, sitting down night after night in front of a computer, typing word after word, making good threads and posts out of their own heartfelt experiences, all that work created with a passion, so everyone out there could enjoy it perhaps someday; while in the mean time these guys became richer and richer, kept having a fkin blast in some club, and kept taking everyone for fools and for a ride, all at the same time. All these years, hah hah hah. I can imagine the grin. They can rot in hell.

Hell shall come to those who beg for it.
And THAT is exactly what they are asking for.

This is what's going to be most difficult for me about the message boards getting deleted. Every time I would watch a movie, the first thing I would do afterwards is go to the MB's on IMDB to read through the threads and see what other people had to say about it. Sometimes the topics even provided more insight to the movie that I didn't get at first.

I remember a post made by a movie director, who made a single post to apologize personally for the terrible movie he had made, and to explain why the movie turned out to be so bad. I think Thor Ramsey's the name, and he got screwed over big time during production. That's human history right there. What these imdb people did is a disgrace.

I just couldn't wait to come home after watching a movie, go on IMDb, read all the trivia, make a review and go either praise it or trash it at the message boards. If you've ever watch the YouTube Channel "Midnight's Edge", their whole "Trankgate" series about FANT4STIC was initiated by an IMDb user at the movie board, for good or bad the boards were famous. I seriously think they will crash and burn.

I seriously think they will crash and burn. I'm sure lots of people are actively hoping to see it. To paraphrase Tony Stark from Marvel's The Avengers: "What they've got is an ACME dinamite kit that will blow up in there faces, and we will all be there to see it."

I definitely had a routine at IMDb, but I think I'll adjust. It's unfortunate.

I just wish there was a search button or some method of navigation as in the original IMDb, which would take you to a specific movie/TV show/actor discussion page. Perhaps that's in the pipeline?

That Alex guy who made the IMDforum wants to implement a feature similar to that and create a board for every title when the request is made. Not sure if this place is capable of such a huge feat. It's unlikely as this place is hosted by Proboards and it is very limited.
