It was a toss up between Sean Connery and Daniel Craig. I ended up picking Sean Connery.

Sean Connery. His introduction in Dr No, is one of the most iconic scenes of the series

Sean Connery - a few come close, but nobody does it better.

I dismiss the Connery is automatically the best stuff that is still going on. Dalton was spot on and a far better actor, and Craig has nailed it in an different contexts from action to subtle humor to drama.
And I'm somebody who owns every film except for DAD and NSNA which I'll never buy and have seen all of them countless times.

Sean Connery, although Dalton and Brosnan were good as well.

Sean Connery was my favorite James Bond. I always wished that Adrian Paul had played Bond too because he reminds me of Connery and I know he would have been good in the role. But, he's too old for it now.

I need two choices. I can't choose between Connery and Moore.

My choice, 1) Sean Connery 2) Daniel Craig/Roger Moore (Tied) 4) Pierce Brosnan 5) George Lazenby 6) Timothy Dalton
Couldn't rank Lazenby higher because of only the one film. Always felt he got a bad rap though.

Sean Connery is the best, but how in the hell is Timothy Dalton getting more votes than Roger Moore?
Moore is a close 2nd to Connery, in my opinion. Dalton is a decent actor, but made a bad Bond. The Living Daylights was such a forgettable movie.

The Living Daylights was such a forgettable movie. The Dalton votes being ahead of Moore is weird - I'd say Licence to Kill was equally forgettable, asides from being some poor attempt at Miami Vice Bond... I think Moore is a victim of the modern day "realism" effect in Superhero / action films, coming primarily post "The Dark Knight" which ironically seemed, to my eyes anyway, as another Michael Mann knock off (in this instance, Heat). I can only think that some people might want to go past selecting the popular choice in Craig but want to say the next best option grounded in that "realism", which leads them to the rather insipid selection of Dalton.

Favourite: Pierce Brosnan (GoldenEye. Game and film practically raised me)
Best: Connery (There is simply no question)

Timothy Dalton, but being everything they hype Daniel Craig up as, except better and with style.
