SERENDIPITY is a sweet and funny movie with good performances by John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale (who have good chemistry despite their short screen time together), as well as Jeremy Piven and Eugene Levy. I’m a little confused about the plot. JONATHAN TRAGER and SARA THOMAS meet one night. She thinks that, if they are meant to be together, they will find a bill and a book with their phone numbers. A year later, they're both in relationships with other people. A lot of things happen to JONATHAN that should’ve made him stop believing in fate, but he kept believing until the end for no real reason. He's engaged to another woman and eventually calls off his wedding... even though he thought that he could never be with SARA. Why? Was he was still feeling cold feet? If so, it's not shown on screen. I know, I know. I’m overthinking it. Actually, I wasn’t going to, because I could tell that this would be a rom-com full of conveniences. However, the characters have several conversations about fate. The dialogue borders on philosophy. Therefore, the makers were practically asking me to overthink. Look, you don’t bring up important topics like that and just toss them away in order to have a happy ending. Also, there's the unnecessary infidelity. They didn’t kiss until they were both single, but they shared an emotional connection and considered ending their relationships in order to be with the other. I say it was unnecessary because the audience never sees any hint that their relationships are bad. Best bad movie ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog (in English, in Spanish or in Italian).

I love that it speaks to the possibility that somehow somewhere we might find one who we were meant to meet. Despite chance, time and circumstance they found each other. These moments that can change everything. Romantic

The entire movie revolved around them finding each other. I did enjoy it though.
