gunshotwoundY'know, when I asked for a potted palm, Mister Roberts didn't even cross my mind. I thought, "They must be in hundreds of films, but who remembers which," and completely forgot about the potted palm whose fronds stand above all the rest. That's like asking for a grapefruit without thinking of The Public Enemy (maybe somebody should mash one in my face).

Doghouse6Tried and tried and cannot find a grapefruit in a screenshot (other than Cagney) but thought you might like to see this : perhaps a glass of lemonade would be a bit easier to find~

A little sidestep about cigarette holders: Why smoke one cigarette at a time, when you can smoke the whole package at once? It's actually was a real invention. Now back to searching Ransacked rooms!

I kept trying to think of a scene with a potted palm and thought of several but could not find a screenshot of any. Mister Roberts kept popping up with all Google searches and then it hit me over the head. It a shot from Roberts!

Mister Roberts kept popping up with all Google searches and then it hit me over the head. It a shot from Roberts! Then, as Oscar Hammerstein wrote in My Favorite Things, I don't feel so bad. It wasn't until hours later, and moments before I came back to check on the thread, that I suddenly realized, "Oh MAN! Mister Roberts!" With all the blatant hypocrisy on display in today's politics, hubby and I often find ourselves invoking Cagney/Capt. Morton's apropos declaration: "Never mind what I told you...IIIIIIIIIII'm telling you!"
