From Russia with Ove In this hard-hitting, gritty spy thriller, an elderly, simple-minded Swedish man named Ove (Walter Brennan) reads Marx's Das Kapital and, thinking the ideas are Groucho's rather than Karl's, moves to the Soviet Union so that he can laugh a lot. Unfortunately, the Communist authorities, led by Comrade Gen. Vlad Tepes (Béla Lugosi) and Comrade Col. Petr Lorre (Peter Lorre), don't believe Ove and instead consider him a western spy. He is put on death row, but he amuses the guards, Stanslav (Stan Laurel) and Ollieslav (Oliver Hardy), so much that they let him go. As Ove wanders around Moscow, he discovers the beautiful Natasha Yoschenko (Cyd Charisse), who desperately wants to escape Russia and travel to America. Natasha explains that Groucho Marx actually lives in America, a revelation that convinces Ove that he should join her. Ove and Natasha take the train to Leningrad, where they board a boat to take them to America. Unfortunately, Tepes and Lorre have discovered their location and ask brilliant KGB agent Nikita Khrushchev, Jr. (Peter Sellers), to kill and take the place of famed British spy James Bond (a cameo by Hoagy Carmichael--props to whoever gets that reference ), who had also been on the boat. Khrushchev, masquerading as Bond, meets up with Ove and Natasha on the way back... The result is a very gritty and very realistic (have we already mentioned this?) action thriller that is not at all funny. Will Ove and Natasha escape the evil "James Bond"? Or will Bond triumph once and for all? P.S. I do so love coming up with ridiculous plots...

moviebuffbradI like the scrabble idea !
I see no problem with doing "takes" on ones already done. This game is like a meeting where people are throwing ideas around. I understand that they used to do this in movie studios. Now they just get out a list of old movies and decide which one they will re-make next ! /

THE - FILES
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, The - Files, that famous mathematical-sci-fi-comedy-drama about two FBI agents, Mully (Drew Barrymore) and Sculder (Antonio Banderas), who have to infiltrate a high school math class. (Yes, it's a sequel to Bat's Angled.)
It seems that the school principal, Mr. Toothteeth (James Coburn), is participating in a grand conspiracy--with the help of the McDonalds corporation, the CIA, the Soviets, the Illuminati, and the Priory of Sion--to eliminate the minus sign (-) from existence! Can Mully and Sculder stop him? And what are the evil machinations of the cigarette-smoking janitor (Joe Pesci)?

Lorenzo's Oi! - (Lorenzo's Oil)
Lorenzo is driven mute and unresponsive due to extended exposure to watered-down punk rock. Nolte plays his father, who, with no prior music experience, concocts Oi! to snap his son out of his stupor. Shades of I'll Do Anything, as all the musical numbers are removed after poor test screenings. However, Nolte's attempt of a Cockney accent is kept intact.
