I remember always seeing the DVD sets at Best Buy and being curious, but I never actually watched it.... IMPO - This collection is worth watching and even owning too . It's definitely NOT a boring or dull series for sure - action packed scenes & genetics education is in order for this unique show . It's a mixture of - an end of the world type future setting , a mysterious " Eyes Only " TV news informer , and the matching music to fit the tone as well . This is actually my all time favorite & memorable signature role for Jessica Alba too - she was excellent in this . I was only upset that this series didn't get wrapped up in the end the way it should have been . It most definitely needed one more season to finish properly ( yet the FOX Channel did not want to renew it even with James Cameron & everyone who was ready to go & start up the filming of season 3 - what a let down that was on FOX Channel's part ) . Thanks Jan El Señor for your interest in this show and your reply .

Season 1 of Dark Angel is in my personal opinion among the best first seasons ever made. It's absolutely brilliant.
But season 2 was a big let down.
I have it on DVD.

Excellent ! This collection is definitely worthy of the DVD Library ! ( IMPO ) Season 1 of DA was extremely well done ( and as you put here " absolutely brilliant " ) . This show from the very start wasted absolutely no time at all in covering the background story of Max's life ( past and present ) and of her like-siblings too . All of this IMPO of course here - As for the second season - It was just as good as the first season in regards to going further into Max's ( and her like siblings ) past life at Manticore . However I believe the problem really is in the fact that this second season was totally incomplete . It's mainly because of FOX Channels SNAFU decision of not going forward with season 3 as creator James Cameron had requested and was fully ready to start filming right away . Therefore I believe we truly did not get the rest of the story and definitely not it's finally conclusion but instead " a cut short before it's time ending " that truly on a storyline perspective was not wrapped up in the least . Thanks so much feologild for your reply .

anyone here a fan of this awesome & unique short lived series by creator James Cameron ( also with Jessica Alba as the main lead character ) ? Also anyone here have this fine show on DVD ? I have been meaning of paying a little more attention towards the television section, but then I realized I have not exactly been watching too many shows, beside of course, Dark Angel. From what I remember, was that back in 2002-03, the second season (I believe) was being shown on norwegian television, and I soon got kind of hooked in, but because it was usually sent very late, and a lot of the times I just did not have much of chance to stay up all night to catch one episode of a tv-series, I managed to miss a bunch of episodes. Then, it was suddenly no longer aired, and I am not sure if they ever put it back on a re-run, or at least of what I remember back then, that is. I got a hold of the first and second season on DVD last autumn, but have only recently started to re-watch it, all the way back towards season 1, where I am now over halfway though, and am enjoying the show and its characters very much, and while I will not end up watchin 3-4 episodes in a row (the same evening), I try to at least watch 1 episode at night, during the weeks, as that is how I usually prefer to see my favorite shows, not all at once, but make the most of it, over time. Of course, back in 2002-03, the show caught my attention mostly because (yeah, I am pretty "weak", but I think Jessica Alba have never looked better than she did during this show) and surely knowing well that James Cameron was behind the scenery as well, and so watching it know, and also getting a chance of starting it up all from the very beginning, that is surely the right way to go. While it might not overtake shows like Buffy or maybe Angel, I do believe Dark Angel had the possibility (if it had stayed on further a few seasons) to compete with the ones mentioned. However, I gotta admit, I do not remember much of season 2, so it could be a reason to why it was cancelled? Anyway, I will try to update in this thread from now on, on how things go and which episodes I have recently seen.

Had a bit of a "time-out" during October, because of the horror film challenge, and I also wanted to re-watch a season of the later X-Files series, kind of a few episode here and there, as a little "warm up" towards the horror show later on. But for the past week, I have gotten back on track, to continue on with Dark Angel, and while it might not reach the same heights as the first season of Buffy or Angel, I still believe the best episodes are right up there with the shows mentioned, and I am always looking forward to watching another episode at night, so hopefully I might finish of season 1 soon, and start up with season 2 as well.

Dark Angel - Season 1 (2000-01)
Well, it took a while longer thant first expected, but I am glad I decided to return and watch the entire first season, of this sexy and action filled tv-show all the way through. I really enjoyed most of the first season, and specially the great chemistry and link up between the Max (Jessica Alba) and Logan (Michael Weatherly), whom would become a solid team, and also while struggling with different problems, they in turn gain some new and important value and lessons from each other, through out the run.
The main villian, Lydecker (John Savage) and the high-tech corporation Manticore is a worthy opponent, and while a few of the other cast can get a little on my nerves at times, (Original Cindy for example, but she does seem to grow on me after a while). All in all, I had a good time watching 4-5 episodes a week, and are already onto season 2, which kind of started up with a bit of an letdown, but thankfully the next two episodes have been much better quality and entertaining wise.
I give season 1 a positive rating of:
7,5/10

Dark Angel - Season 2 (2001-02)
Well, a little late, but I finally got around to see through the second and final season in early december. I thought it started up rather hasty, too many newcomers arriving in the first episodes (some I just did not like much at all) while a few of the oldtimers suddenly were either written out entirely or got way too little time and place, which I also did not like.
My biggest problem, is I guess, as already mentioned (I believe) having a "weekly" new bad guy/villain, appearing, where as the superior, from most of the first season, Lydecker (John Savage) just felt like he was "rushed" out, and I somehow always hoped or thought he might return much later on, but no. Instead we got a bunch of generic and boring villains, who sadly did little to boost my interest. But, the positive thing, is that I did grow more into the newly arrived group of friendlier outcasts, specially the character that of Joshua, who really reminded me a lot of Vincent from Beauty and the Beast (Ron Perlman), not only in his appearance, but his friendly and warm manner and personality, and the whole "father and underground" movement/backstory plot, which sadly not too often got more into, as I would have loved seeing more of that.
Anyway, the final cliffhanger episode I also enjoyed, of course it did not help me much out, as by then I just wanted more of the show, but sadly it was not to be, but I will surely re-visit the series one day, and for now I think a total rating of:
6,5/10 is where it lies.
Season 1 obviously the best, but where season 2 picks off in a rather uneven way, but do pick up after a while and finish off rather strongely.
