This just illustrates how poorly RSA’s top order has been batting. The best innings so far have come from bowlers and they either a) play their shots with intelligence or b) bat sensibly and wait for the bad ball.

Not really because it looked like he was hitting some form. This is the same cycle of shit that befell his brother. Out of form, out of the side - gets inexplicably picked - plays like shit for ages - finally finds form - gets injured and loses place - out of form, out of the side. It’s the patented Marsh cycle.

Good spell initially by Saffer pacers but India again looking in control now. Rohit Sharma has hit 4 sixes and if he stays till end of the day he might just double his figures.

Not a good performance by Saffers in the 2nd and 3rd Test but of course I didn't expect to see any good performance anyway. It is sad because in the 90s and 2000s saffers were the best touring side to India. They were the first team to beat India in a test series in India after India remained defeatless all through the 90s at home.

Saffers in real trouble. All the talent lost to Kolpak deals is starting to bite as the likes of du Plessis, Amla, Steyn, de villiers etc either retire or decline. Elgar and de Kock are going to be carrying the batting with very little else. Bowling's still solid, but Philander's not getting any younger. This will be the beginning of a long decline.

India beat Saffers to wrap up series - shock! - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/50136100I know I said de Kock should be batting higher in the order, but opening the innings is a bit much!! They couldn't even make a couple of extra runs to stop the follow on option - Jaysus. The Saffers V England series in December and January is shaping up to be most interesting.

South Africa v England isn’t looking interesting - it’s looking like a steamroller where England’s top order gets to bat with the sun on their backs on good batting decks, and then their quicks get to bowl in decent conditions with added bounce. England might even pick 4 quicks (Anderson, Broad, Archer, Wood) and have Denly, Root and Stokes as the part timers.

Don't see it that way at all, Saffers bowlers have more than enough to have England's fragile batting in trouble. It will be interesting because it most likely be a series of low scores and who bowls best wins! Of course if Root and Stokes are on form it could be a different matter. We shall see...
