Watched The Poughkeepsie Tapes, those crap quality tapes nearly made me seasick. Also the acting was on infomercial level.
Now Im watching The Remaining, if I knew beforehand that this was a bible thumping movie, I would have skipped it.

Just got back tonight from a cinema showing of the 4K print of "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" (1974). Truly a great experience. The final third of the film when the aniexty and madness breaks out is simply heightened on the big screen and surround sound. Loved it!

I didn't realize it was 4K, I was just excited to be seeing it on the big screen. It gave me a whole new appreciation for the film. I also got to see Jaws in the theater last week. I need to see 4 movies tomorrow, including two first timers. If I don't, it will be my second time failing the challenge (been doing it since 2010 I think?) I started the month super depressed, and then the last few days I've been busy, so I'm behind my usual stats.

Already met the total but I don't know if I'll get the new view mark. I need to see 2 new ones today. I lost steam last week and had a busy weekend. I'll try but I don't know if I'll have time today.

It was by dumb luck too. Found out the cinema is playing some more horror classics over the next couple of months. Next one will be "Nightmare on Elm Street" and the previous night to that they are showing "The Warriors". I know it's not horror, but I can't go past Walter Hill. One thing though, watching TCM on the big screen gave me a much greater appreciation of its technical execution (e.g camerawork, editing & sound).

Rewatching "The X-Files" took up some spare time and I was going to watch "Stranger Things 2", well I did two episodes, but decided to get back onto the films to finish the month.

The two hosts at the showing said that we would be watching the restored 4K print of the film. Yeah I know what you mean, it blew me away. Something about seeing it on the big screen highlights every single detail. Picking up on things that you never really noticed before, like for me it was the editing job at the dinner table scene. Just brilliant. I would love to see "Jaws" on the big screen. That would be quite an immersive experience. "Suspiria" and "Dawn of the Dead 78" are also on that list.

I'll have the final results tallied and posted this coming weekend, so it gives everybody time to update their progress posts.

I walked in a few moments late, so I may have missed that (on that note, I was really annoyed I missed the opening narration and flash bulbs. Small stuff, but they really set the tone for the film). And exactly. How about that transition from what seems like the camera dying to the full moon? For a low budget slasher, this movie is really a technical marvel. Seeing it on the big screen also made the actual horror all the more effective. Kirk's death gave me chills. Oh yeah, those are on mine too, as well as Scream. You should check out The Shining as well. I've also seen Psycho, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Street on the big screen.

Got through 31 films in total. Not as many as I hoped to see but I did not have enough time to spend or the extra motivation to see more horror films. Re-watching Buffy: The Vampire Slayer along with several other films that is not horror related took up much more space than expected but I think the month have been rather good with very few disappointments and in fact probably more pleasant surprises and some new favorites too than bad ones.

Bit of a middling year for me. Didn't see anything new that blew me away, though I really liked The Visit and The Invitation. Saw a few duds and, jaysus, Silent Hill is a lot worse than I remembered.

Middling year for me as well. Plus I phoned it in and only got in the required amount (16 ftvs, 31 total). "I could have watched more!", as Liam Neeson would say.
I wanted to do a Phantasm marathon, especially since I haven't seen 5 yet. But I suppose I could do that anytime.
