The movie is a 10 obviously. The problem is that Kubrick died right before filming the ending. In the ending Kidman poisons Cruise during breakfast by putting venom in his tea, because he knows too much about the cabal. The asshole producers decided to pull out the movie without the ending. Without the ending, the movie is mindless.

I'd have to watch it again, really, but I'd guess I'd give it about a 4/10.

Wow, what a polarizing film. So far, 7 people have voted 8/10 or higher, but 5 people have voted 4/10 or lower.

I always liked it, but I also always got the impression that I didn't really understand it.

6 at best. Some interesting parts, visually interesting, but doesn't really have much of interest to say. I remember this big speech where (I believe) Kidman's character suggests that married people occasionally desire people other than their partners. Like, wow.

Yeah, after all the hype it was stunningly unambitious, totally bland in execution, and completely mediocre in concept. I gave it a 5/10, and I seriously feel that's being generous considering the embarrassing degree to which this film exposed both Cruise and Kidman as the terrible actors they are.

Well. So was sitting through Eyes Wide Shut and waiting for it to get good. i'm not quite so down on it, but i do wish Kubrick's final film was more of an opus. you actually made me reflect on whether Kidman is legitimately a talented actress or whether i just want her booty. (the answer is both)

7/10 – Great visuals and intriguing glimpses into a secret elite. Not near to Kubrick's best, in my view.

Eyes Wide Shut (1999) I gave this film a vote of 9 here . Although I haven't watched this movie in awhile I remember it still was a really good Kubrick film especially being his last one as well . IMPO - Quite an intriguing storyline of a secret society that one young man discovers in just a single night that changes his life from then on . I know I will be watching this movie again soon . Thanks darkpast for your subject post .
