EL CIUDADANO KRAMER has 2 major improvements compared to STEFAN VS KRAMER: A) The title character has more personality. B) There are more pop culture parodies. Unlike the impressions of local celebrities, those don't alienate foreign viewers. The problem is that the movie was still built on those impressions as foundation. That, the unfunny gags, the meandering plot and the obvious product placement are why this is as bad overall as its predecessor. Once again, co-director/actor Stefan Kramer nepotistically gives his wife Paloma Soto opportunities to sing. Well, at least the theme song is good. It's a catchy parody of cheesy presidential campaign songs. The trailer spoiled too much, including a cameo by a certain TV personality. Why ruin the joke of the imitation and the real person interacting? Because whoever made the trailer didn't think it would be a surprise since the joke was already used in the 1st installment? And because Kramer and his co-script writers Javier Estévez F. (who's also the co-director), Cristián Jiménez, Javier Manriquez and Patricio Pimienta use the joke here more than once, which reeks of desperation? 1/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog (in English, in Spanish or in Italian).
