There's a difference between a movie that focuses more on the characters than the story in order to study them and a movie that feels like the final episode of a series that has already finished the story and that wants to show just the characters interacting and reflecing. UMI YORI MO MADA FUKAKU (AFTER THE STORM) falls into the latter category. While the way in which writer/director Hirokazu Koreeda puts the scenes together to build the plot is not-not original, most of the scenes aren't original individually. None of the performances stand out and the music score is bad. 3/10 ------------------------------------- You can read comments of other movies in my blog (in English, in Spanish or in Italian).

I enjoyed it a lot. Not my favourite from Koreeda but beautifully acted, moving and enthralling throughout.
