I was kidding, I thought both movies were garbage lol. I'm glad you enjoyed it though Oh, sorry! The Happening will be my guilty pleasure, or something. Don't worry: criticized though it is, you're not alone! (I haven't actually seen this one, so I can't comment one way or the other.)

Have only seen Unbreakable and did not like it at all but I don't recall exactly why and The Village which was a very very odd movie. I guessed the twist but not early on. I have an unwatched copy of Signs. Unwatched because I have developed an aversion to Gibson and have many films I would rather see. It sounds like it might be ok though.
6th Sense = yes = seen many times and was fortunate enough to see it un-spoiled the first time !

BATouttaheckOh, no, is Sir Michael "dressed as a clown, about to be murdered" in Sleuth in your new avatar? Sleuth? That movie about which I'm cursed to wander the world like Ahasver, looking for singers? I think you may like Signs--it's my favorite Shyamalan movie of them all (yes, even factoring in The Sixth Sense): very well-filmed and beautifully characterized. When did you guess the twist for The Village, if I might ask? I'm just interested because (1) general interest because of, y'know, detective stories and all and (2) I kinda-sorta had The Village spoiled for me. (Slightly different story for The Sixth Sense.)

Nalkarj The Village .. it was a while ago but I think she was almost where she was going when the lightbulb lit. I had heard that the film was "bad" but it sounded interesting and I had liked 6th so gave it a try.

"Why can't they get girlfriends?" from Signs.
I love the message in that movie, that things will be as they are meant to be.

There was another image of Sir M that I wanted to post but it wouldn't so I didn't. I think it might have been from Zulu. It was at Google image and so, naturally, it was unlabeled. As for The Village... I didn't catch on until I saw the vehicle after she climbed the fence. It was nice to get the full impact of the "twist" just as I did when I first saw "Sixth Sense".

Did you like The Village, SciFive? I thought it was quite good, twist and all, but it was pilloried by the critics. ( Lady in the Water, Shyamalan's next attempt, deserved the pillorying, though, I thought.)

Oh, and happy to see Signs is winning. It's my favorite of Shyamalan's movies.

Re: your spoiler SciFive : I am a HUGE Fan of spoilers and always appreciate their use. A pet peeve of mine of the major variety is those who insist on telling the ending, even as "innocently" as saying I was glad it had a happy ending. . Need to re-watch The Village to see if I still like it knowing what I now know.

Need to re-watch The Village to see if I still like it knowing what I now know. I feel the same way - no matter how old the movie happens to be, there are still people who haven't seen it and who might be interested in it. Trying to stay away from overt and accidental spoilers on message boards and in the press (sometimes) is sometimes really difficult and really ticks me off when they hit. Example about last Harry Potter book: When the last Harry Potter book was being released, no one knew if he would live in the end or what would happen. Someone on the IMDb Politics board put this as a THREAD TITLE on the day of book release before almost anyone had a chance to read the book: "HARRY LIVES AND HE MARRIES GINNY." ARGHHHH!

The Village is the only movie, whose twist I figured out before it was revealed. I watch a lot of movies but my mind just doesn't work that way, that I ever figure them out.
Of course I was prepared and searching for the twist, and figured it out by the dull method of 'dates'.

That's a good way to ask it, since THE 6TH SENSE (10/10) is my favorite of his movies (it's also my all-time favorite horror/thriller). 2nd place is a tie between THE VILLAGE and THE VISIT (9/10).
