All of these movies were increasingly ridiculous, from the plot to the title. I bet if this POS franchise was still going, we would get titles like 'Harry Potter and the secret of Hogwarts' or 'Harry Potter and the fee fee foe'. Sad, pathetic franchise for sad pathetic people.

I love HP, but I laughed like hell at the title of this thread. Awesome.

It would be a more gripping title that the Hallows of Death or Order of the Eagles. That's for sure.

It would be a more gripping title that the Hallows of Death or Order of the Eagles. That's for sure. Hilariously, both of your fake titles sound more badass than the actual titles. (Hallows of Death > Deathly Hallows; Order of the Eagles > Order of the Phoenix.) I think so, anyway...

Actually, it does A LOT. Really? You liked the books and absolutely HATED the movies?
For me, the only reason I liked the movies was BECAUSE I loved the books. They weren't, in my view, particularly imaginative or innovative films.

I am a big fan of the books. I haven't read them in a few years but I have read them all several times. Obviously I am being a little playful in my delivery in this thread but I really didn't like the movies. Partly because I didn't care for the 3 main actors and I felt that the movies concentrated on a lot of the wrong things whilst leaving out more important aspects to the story. The movies did have good moments but in general they just didn't work for me. I did LOVE the scene in Hallows where Harry confronted Snape though. That was perfect. Fantastic Beasts, on the other hand I really enjoyed much to my surprise.

I still haven't gotten a chance to check out FB, had some crazed family stuff going on during its original theatrical release and really never heard any word of mouth one way or the other. Makes me a little more eager to check it out. re: the filmic adaptations of 1-7: I think they were outdated midway through the series, but they were too far in circa 2005/6/7 to change course and start making movies more faithful to the novels. I think if they made them from scratch today you'd see a totally different approach.

I would like to see them remade but not for a long time yet.

Recently parodied Dan Brown here. Will now go on to writing Harry Potter and the Toenail of Mount Crumb. I know you’re not here any more, @drrobertblock, but thanks.
