1. The Lion King
2. I'm not 100% sure on this, the first movie I saw without either parent was Rat Race. Mom probably gave me the movie to see it though.
3. Star Wars Episode 1
4. Dragon Ball Z Resurrection F. I saw that movie three times, twice in Japan where I didn't understand it and then one in UK when it was dubbed.
It's the only movie I've seen three times.

I know that I've paid to see a number of different movies more than once - due to going to see them with different people; or it was just so good, I had to go again. But movies that I made it a point to repeat watch. I always watched each of the original star trek movies at least three times as they were released. Then I'd buy the video or dvd, as soon as it came out.

1. Thumbelina. My mom, my grandma and I were the only three people in the theater. 2. I'm not sure. I know Home on the Range was the first movie I saw without my parents or some other adult being present, but I don't remember if my dad paid for it or not. 3. I never have personally paid to see a movie more than once. The first movie I saw in theater twice was Mulan. First I saw it with my friend and her family, then I saw it with my family. The only other movie I've seen twice was the previously mentioned Home on the Range. I saw it with a friend, then I saw it with my family.

> First movie you WATCHED in a theater, regardless of who (e.g., your parents) paid?
The first I remember is Jaws. This would have been a couple of years after it was made, when I was around eight or nine. Probably there were ones before that that I don't remember, though.
> First movie you personally PAID to see in a theater?
A little B movie called Hangar 18. About a crashed UFO and a government conspiracy to cover it up. Fun movie.
> First movie you paid to see TWICE in a theater?
Star Trek : The Motion Picture.
> First movie you paid to see THRICE in a theater?
Not sure.
> First movie you paid to see MORE THAN THREE TIMES?
I'd guess The Matrix.
> Your personal box office record for any movie?
The day the 2009 Star Trek movie came out, my brother and I went to the cinema in the morning for the first showing. Then for the rest of the day we came out, got tickets to another showing, and went back in again. We watched the movie six times in that one day. Then the next day, we drove 50 miles to see it again in an iMax screen. I think we saw it two or three more times over the following few weeks.

> First movie you WATCHED in a theater, regardless of who (e.g., your parents) paid?
Beauty and the Beast in either late 1991 or probably early 1992. I was 4 1/2. I vividly remember the Be Our Guest scene in the theater. It rings a bell that I also saw The Addams Family in the theater, which would have been out at the same time. I definitely saw most of the Disney Renaissance films in the '90s until towards the end and 5 Robin Williams movies (my USAir captain dad had Robin on his plane in 1993 not long after Aladdin came out, my mom and I saw Flubber and Anastasia on the same day and actually saw Mrs. Doubtfire at an old-fashioned drive-in theater--the other two being Jumanji and Ferngully). The '90s were the decade I actually went to the theater a lot, especially for tons of kid movies, but also some major ones later. Was there anyone on the planet then that didn't see The Phantom Menace and Titanic at the theater? Exactly.
> First movie you personally PAID to see in a theater?
Eh, I've always gone with my parents or on my parents' money. I hardly ever go to the theater anymore.
> First movie you paid to see TWICE in a theater?
Titanic. 4 times. I was 10 years old and everyone I knew watched it numerous times in the theater, not to mention all of the documentaries coming out at the time. I also saw the Titanic artifact exhibit on the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. Some of the costumes were also at the now defunct Planet Hollywood here in San Diego, CA.
> First movie you paid to see THRICE in a theater?
Titanic. See above. Only other movie I've seen 3 times in the theater was Sweeney Todd (went with different people).
> First movie you paid to see MORE THAN THREE TIMES?
Titanic. See above.
> Your personal box office record for any movie?
Titanic. See above.
-----------
I actually was living in Ensenada, Baja California at the time that Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was filming in 2002. I saw the ship in the harbor with the black sail from my school there. Of course, nobody knew what was filming, other than it was very clearly a pirate ship.

The first cinema we went to refused to let us in because I was a kid. But the second didn't say a word, we just bought tickets and walked in. Cinemas were a lot looser about things like that back then.

What movies have YOU spent the most on at the box office? Without attempting to adjust ticket prices for inflation and all that complex jazz, let's assume a ticket is a ticket is a ticket on a one-to-one basis. This simplifies things even further and, under these conditions, more or less amounts to the number of trips to the cinema. That said, here're a few criteria I've come up with just for fun. I'll go first... > First movie you WATCHED in a theater, regardless of who (e.g., your parents) paid?
Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Christopher Lloyd scared the hell out of me. > First movie you personally PAID to see in a theater? Batman Forever. Even had a few bucks left over for a Coke and a bag of Twizzlers. > First movie you paid to see TWICE in a theater?Star Wars: A New Hope (Special Edition); couldn't get enough of it on the big screen and personally loved the updates. > First movie you paid to see THRICE in a theater? Can't Hardly Wait, because -- well, never mind. > First movie you paid to see MORE THAN THREE TIMES? Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace, which I saw a ludicrous EIGHT times in its original release. > Your personal box office record for any movie?
See above. Eight for TPM. Save your Jar Jar jokes, haters. I've heard them all! So those are mine. What about yours? Any other criteria/categories you can think of as well? Ok, my memory of some of these may be rusty, but I'll try. > First movie you WATCHED in a theater, regardless of who (e.g., your parents) paid? I know I probably watched an animated movie first, but I vividly remember being way to young at Grease with my mom. > First movie you personally PAID to see in a theater? Probably something like Howard the Duck or Mannequin. > First movie you paid to see TWICE in a theater? Howard the Duck most likely. I loved that movie. I saw it with a few friends. > First movie you paid to see THRICE in a theater? Again, I'm thinking it was Howard the Duck. > Your personal box office record for any movie? I don't think I've seen any movie more than 3 times, and it is a multiple tie. I guess the first one might be Return of the Jedi.
