Poor Mark. He had better material here than in TLJ.

“Oh, my. And I thought our names were weird.” “Look, Skywalker: you go along with this or I’ll cut you in half!” Hilarious!

Poor Mark. He had better material here than in TLJ. But this doesn’t compare with his shockingly amazing performance as the villain in the Star Wars Halloween Special, does it? I just loved writing that one.

looked it up and there was more of them in that Muppet show, but alas no confrontation scene between Luke and Vader Gonzo.
dance number
This being shot after Empire seems like the the Holiday Special Part 2.
Also, I fear Lucas might have enjoyed the pigs in space segment too much, hence the more juvenile Ewok stuff in Jedi.

Guys, is this canon? I think it should be. Innit?
Seriously, it’s better than the Holiday Special, which I forced myself to watch when I was writing the Halloween Special outline.

Doesn't Disney own the Muppets?

Doesn't Disney own the Muppets? Yes, because now Disney owns everything. One thing I really liked, by the way, was at the end of the second clip Tristan's Journal posted, they were all singing to “You Are My Lucky Star,” which was sung in Singin’ in the Rain by—Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher’s mom. I don’t know if that was intentional, especially as Carrie Fisher wasn’t in it, but either way it was nice.

At first view many find them entertaining (as they are essentially a OT greatest hits cover album) - in fact we had a guy who watched TFA 12 times in theaters before he decided that it is irredeemable trash. What these films lack is creativity of their own (new vehicle designs, world building etc) or any form of originality (story wise).

There are still a couple of horror/spooky pictures I want to see left over from Hallowe’en, and I really have to finish my Batman story, but after that I’ll try to get The Force Awakens from the library. Speaking of which, TFA was nearly the first Star Wars movie I watched: I was going to see it at the movie theater upstate New York until a snowstorm caused us to stay housebound that day. If it’s not very good, I’m happy I waited till seeing the originals (and prequels).

Better start chronologically with the Lucas stuff and then move on to the retreading Disney films. Just FYI: There is an entire 5.5-season cartoon show called The Clone Wars wich is essential Star Wars viewing and canon. Lucas created it after Sith. It's set between EpII and III and shows the war in detail with heavy focus on the clones as soldiers developing humanity. If you can get over the fact that this is animated it is BRILLIANT (gets better per season). In fact many a prequel hater became accepting of this world and timeline after having seen the show. It uses the world building and characters very well. And believe it or not a NEW season (6) will be released next year by Disney/Lucasfilm:
