The thing now is whether or not they acknowledge her absence in the film, or if she's simply gone without explanation Thats the question isnt it.

I dont think they will explain. Waititi made it clear this is his Thor 1. There will be few if any references to the other two Thor movies.

I will see next week on saturday It's really not possible to do a Thor movie without any connection whatsoever to those two. I don't think the director's words were understood.

Perhaps Sif, Volstagg, etc. will have been sent away by Odin!Loki shortly before Hela's arrival, so they are treated more like Mr.Church (Bruce Willis) in EXPENDABLES 3 where Barney (Sly Stallone) asks where Church is, and since B.W. wasn't in the movie, his replacement (Harrison Ford) just says, "He's not in the picture.", and it never comes up again. There is always the possibility of them popping up in INFINITY WAR. Sif did deliver the Ether to the Collector, so if the rumours are true that Heimdall dies so the Infinity stone that gives him his Sight can be removed, then maybe Sif & Co. have a hand in fighting Thanos for killing their friend (and brother, in Sif's comic book version's case).

Heimdall has already been relieved of his duties as the Gatekeeper by this movie (Skurge is the new Gatekeeper, and he's the one who doesn't oppose Hela when she arrives)...my guess is that Loki has been putting more controllable people in key positions under his rule to keep anyone who was close to Odin from realizing what's happened.

Thats probably whats gonna happen.
