Oh im not but when that aired it was a big stink, Bake Off garners a weird level of obsession over here, the granny ice cream incident was a major to do at the time, as was Bake Off moving channels, I don't get it myself but others do so ok. Wow. I didn't know it was that popular in the UK. It is fairly popular here and our Australian version got quite a few viewers here but not to the level you described and it sounds like cooking shows are all the rage in your country.A lot of cooking shows do well in ratings here too but they are just not as talked about or promoted as scripted TV shows especially American TV shows and the shows that get the most viewers here are lifestyle programs and news shows. 'The Bachelor' and 'The Bachelorette' are very popular here too but we don't watch those.

Nah just bake off, a running joke is bake off is a harmless thing to vent about, you know world going to shit, lunatic in the white house with nuclear codes, demented bat in No.10 with no clue what the fuck she is doing, Brexit is it good is it bad, what impact will it have on the shape of bananas going forward, will the scotts demand another referendum to leave, will we demand one to tell em to fuck off, just what in the fuck is going on!!!!
Too much serious stuff so an old bitty letting some plebs ice cream melt a little is an easy topic for people to get up in arms about and it not end in tears or blows, but we get this with a whole host of the reality tv shows, and they seem to cycle in and out, so it's Bake off then it's Big Brother, then it's Im a Celebrity, then it's X-Factor or Britain's Got Talent, or Dancing With The Stars, you know it's fucking endless and mindless, same for the reality drama's like TOWIE, Made In Chelsea or Geordie Shore, you know inane bollocks with people who have the collective IQ or a mouldy turnip.

Okay. Over here our food shows are so popular Channel 7 just started a brand new channel called ‘7 Food’ and we haven’t seen it yet ‘cause it is on Digital and we are currently having some problems with our antenna picking up digital channels and I don’t know what is going on at the moment ‘cause we were picking them up not very long ago but now we can only watch the channels on Foxtel and it is the same with the TV in our bedroom. I hate Digital and we have had a number of problems with it on multiple televisions since we got it over a decade ago and my Sister has too. We have some of the channels like Eleven (now 10 Peach), 7Mate and Go on Foxtel but we don’t pick up all of them which is annoying ‘cause they should all be on Foxtel like the other free to air channels are.
I can see why people would turn to a TV show like ‘The Great British Bank Off’ ‘cause it is better than hearing about all the bad things but it sounds like it’s a very confusing time for your country now and I often hear about Brexit and how people want another vote for it and others don’t especially since it could come back with the same results and end up being a waste of time and I heard they are trying to kick your Prime Minister out too and you could very well be joining us Aussies with getting a new Prime Minister before your next election. We will be getting a new one in May when we have our next Federal Election and the Liberal party recently got slaughtered in Victoria and politics is going to be all over the news in the first half of 2019 ‘cause we have our state election in March too.
We have got all our Christmas DVDs out to watch now and we got the boxes out last month but have only watched one movie so far and put them in another room and now that it’s December Beccy and I will be watching Christmas movies and TV shows all month long!! and playing Christmas albums too and you should join in with the Christmas festivities Dazz and watch some of them too and speaking about food shows do you get any Christmas food shows in England? We get heaps of them here and there are a number of them we have booked to record in our Foxtel IQ.

Put the tree up yesterday, gonna put some lights up later today and I just polished off a box of mince pies, im in the Christmas spirit, or as close as my miserable arse is capable of it, just brought the last of my sisters X-mas presents and already been listening to the odd Christmas song...fuck I love Christmas.
How are you guys with the tree & decorations, you traditional or new fangled? im a traditional sort green and red, with some silver & gold, sister wanted a black tree with silver and clear baubles, I told her to fuck off we aint having no emo goth tree, then she kicked me and gave in but only so long as she paid for it...so she decided the green tree is still good enough .
Nope no X-mas specific cooking hsows, like the normal ones have Christmas themed episodes but I don't watch them, only cooking show/episode I ever liked is the cant cook, wont cook, piss take episode with Red Dwarf called Cant Smeg, Wont Smeg, it was fucking hilarious more shows should do that shit, WWE should create their own cooking show it'll be hilarious seeing the wrestlers in character having to cook shit, I would love to see Gallows & Anderson drunk trying to cook it would be hysterical.

This is a bit late Sorry for taking so long to reply to this Dazz but as you know I had a break from writing on this site last month. Have you still got your Christmas decorations up Dazz? Beccy and I are starting to take ours down tomorrow and we are going to hang our Valentine's Day decorations up next and then when we take them down we are going to hang our Easter decorations up and we figured since the shops are celebrating Easter so early selling Hot Crossed Buns and Easter eggs we might as well put our Easter decorations up early and we will be able to keep them up even longer than our Christmas decorations. We have nearly just as many Easter decorations as we have Christmas decorations and I am going to make some new Easter crafts and ornaments for Easter this year too. Are the shops in the UK selling Easter things yet and is Easter a big holiday in the UK like it is for many of us here in Australia? I still haven't eaten chocolate since I got my wisdom tooth removed last year but I will definitely be eating Easter eggs by April along with chocolate bunnies and other delicious chocolatey goodies and I am looking forward to having Darrell Lea and Cadbury Easter eggs the most and am hoping we get the Turkish Delight egg back this year.
Christmas is always my favourite time of the year but Easter is my second and do you buy your family Easter eggs and presents for Easter and have you ever participated in an Easter Egg hunt? We set them up here and at my Sister's house for my nieces and nephew some years and we still come across Easter eggs months later but we are careful where we hide them here 'cause we don't want our pets having chocolate especially our Malshis 'cause chocolate can kill dogs and make them very ill. We used a traditional green Christmas tree for Christmas but we had a lot of different coloured decorations on it and there are heaps of different coloured Christmas trees available now and you can even get upside down trees which seem kinda crazy but we stay with the traditional green ones 'cause we like them the most and have been using them for years. We have Easter trees at Easter and that is something my Aunt does too and do you have Easter trees and hang up many Easter decorations?

Nope easter isn't a big holiday for me, took the X-mas stuff down on Monday because well we forgot they were up until my aunt came round and mentioned them, but nah easter isn't that big a deal really over here I don't think, more a thing for kids and families but if you guys love it that's cool, I still don't get why a bunny gives out chocolate eggs in memory of jesus being crucified though...and people wonder why religion is hard for some to go with

Easter commemorates the Resurrection not the crucifixion.

For anyone who cares, Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion.

Always found that to be an odd thing, this is the day we remember jesus died for us, we call it good Friday...imagine calling the anniversary of your nans death happy Tuesday, you would get your arse slapped. Anyone find it odd though how the birth of jesus may have started 3 gift giving traditions? presents for Christmas, birthday presents and babyshowers...and yet we call the rememberance of his death GOOD FRIDAY WTF!!! hehehe

Well, it was good because it freed mankind from sin and allowed us to go to Heaven. So, yeah at the time it didn't seem very good but after the resurrection it became evident that it was.

Should be called fortunate Friday, or forgiveness Friday maybe count yah lucky fucking stars Friday but good?? hmm just doesn't sit right.
Also anyone find it weird we know when Jesus was born but not when he died? like ok the random birth of a dude who will go on to be our saviour we remember, but the actual date he died we forgot, we just know it was a Friday? but don't we know how old he was so we could work it out? all seems odd considering my family and I forget when people were born all the time, and we have birth certificates these days and our dob is a regularly asked thing, how did they fucking remember itso easily?
Also an odd question what year was jesus born? 1 BC 1 AD, 0 BC or 0 AD this just confuses me which way your meant to go with this one?

Easter is one of our favourite holidays and it is a big deal here and lots of people buy each other delicious Easter Eggs and presents and I am looking forward to eating Easter this year so I can eat some Easter Eggs and chocolate Bunnies and we will be going to the ‘Sydney Royal Easter Show’ again. To many non-religious people here it has kinda become day of celebration of chocolate and you can get all kinds of different Easter eggs at the shops like Turkish Delight Eggs, Crunchie eggs, Maltersers eggs, Dream eggs, Mars eggs, M&Ms eggs, Cherry Ripe eggs, Picnic eggs, Caramello eggs, Oreo eggs, Bounty eggs, Snickers eggs, Twix eggs, Marvelous Creations eggs, Milky Way Eggs, Creme eggs, Smarties eggs, Humpty Dumpty's and one of my favs, M&Ms Speckled Eggs!! Do you have the day off eating meat on Good Friday? We don't eat meat so it doesn't make any difference for us but a lot of people we know don't eat it on Good Friday and they have seafood, salad and vegetables instead. Here are some of our delicious chocolates here.

Nah I eat meat whenever, my dad used to forgo meat on good Friday but I never followed that, hell it became a joke in the end, my dad would have his cheese & onion quiche on good Friday and every year my dinner would become more carnivorous which was due to my mum finding it funny to tease my dad, tbh I never remember thee no meat thing so maybe I have in the past but most of my dinners feature meat of some kind, unless I feel lazy and end up having beens on toast that is.
But yeah Easter for me is simply the time of year chocolate is everywhere, which I like more after Easter when the shops reduce what they didn't sell so I can have it cheaper hehehe.

That's fair. I just know quite a few people who do it and many of them aren't even religious and I think the concept of not eating meat on Good Friday has become somewhat of a novelty on the day for meat eaters and they find it fun to have a day where they don't eat meat and have seafood, fruit and vegetables instead. We have those things all year so it doesn't make any difference to us but when I was younger and still living with my parents one of my neighbours accidentally ate meat on Good Friday and I remember they were freaking out so bad over it and thought they were going to be struck down by lightning and that was pretty funny and I don't think there would be a punishment for religious people eating meat by mistake on Good Friday. You are right about it being better to get the chocolates after Easter 'cause that is when you can get them cheaper and do you have the big After Easter sales like After Christmas sales 'cause some of our supermarkets have them and they use another store next to them to sell all the remaining Easter eggs and Christmas things.
