I don't know whether "fan" is the right word, since I found it unpleasant at times and downright disturbing at others. But: it's an immensely interesting and fascinating movie.
Probably I need to watch it another two or three times before forming any real, substantive opinion about it.

Probably I need to watch it another two or three times before forming any real, substantive opinion about it. *All of this IMPO of course - * I myself actually call this film - " The Extended Lost Twin Peaks Episode " . * It's because this particular movie installment really fills in the blanks perfectly that the " Twin Peaks Series " did not cover much about the life story of the main character - it was mostly in dialogue form . *Also David Lynch's style of film and shows do tend to gravitate towards " the surrealistic " so folks either really like it or not at all - either way " that's cool ! " . * I tend to be very impressed with his style of films and shows and can't wait to see the new Twin Peaks return wrap-up series coming in May . * I suggest if you want to give this a second try do watch the Twin Peaks Series first then the film version will make a whole lot more sense by then - it so did for me . Thanks so much coldenhaulfield for your input on this film and your reply .

The one immediate criticism that springs to mind would be that I wanted to see more of the other characters in Twin Peaks apart from Laura, but I suppose that's why Lynch made the movie to begin with -- because, unlike the rest of the cast of Peaks, Laura's "story" never got told. So really I just want more Twin Peaks, which we're getting.
I can't wait!

I'm not absolutely sure about seeing every character on the new follow up Twin Peaks series because a lot of the actors & actresses have either passed on or the remaining ones still with us are not sure if they will be in it or not . That is why I suggested watching the original series from 1990 too because all the characters were definitely there in it . Either way I think David Lynch will come through on this new short wrap-up series too - like he always had before with his other works - IMPO . I'm so looking forward to this as well . Thanks again coldenhaulfield .

I thought it was a nice follow up to the series. I'm looking forward to the Netflix reboot of the series, and I hope they do another film.
They shot themselves in the foot showing their hand too quickly with the Bob story line. That show should have been 5 seasons at least.

While the Missing Pieces have some incredible scenes, it's really just a companion piece to FWWM. However, while I prefer FWWM, I definitely recommend both to anyone who enjoys Seasons I-II.

Is MP basically just more Laura-centric outtakes from the movie? Or does it more so feature the other characters around town?

However, there are many scenes with the characters around town as well, including Pete, Josie, Truman, Lucy, Andy, and Big Ed among them.

That's very much what I found lacking, if anything, in FWWM. The around-town stuff.

Hey, neat! Thanks a lot. Really cool stuff. I'll keep it handy when I watch MP. You're most welcome coldenhaulfield . I guess we can leave it to David Lynch to take his fine work and go another step or two even further with it .

It kind of annoyed me the first time I saw it. The series was cancelled on a mega cliffhanger, and here Lynch had a chance to give the show a conclusion but instead chose to give us a prequel telling us things we basically already know, I suspect because he had a crush on the actress that plays Laura.
Now that we finally have the follow up show, I watched this again before it premiered and enjoyed it a lot more on its own merits.
