His movies need twenty minutes in the editing room.
They drag.

They drag. First half drags- yes with not enough backstory, but the last half seemed okay as far as pace- starting at the scene where Jyn meets her dad again. I would have liked to see more flashbacks to the 2 asian characters at Jedha before u just kill them off 90 min later

I nudged her and told her to hang in there because it'll be worth it. Agreed. However, that movie gave me my favorite scene in ANY Star Wars movie.

This movie will probably be the least talked about in the series in 10 years. The Phantom Menace had a lot of fun moments but the stupidity of the film is really what brought it down. Rogue One is mostly just dull.

Interesting, since I thought the pacing here was OK for the most part, and I've got a low tolerance for anything past 90 minutes.

At this point, if he made a Batman movie I'd expect 10 minutes of truly awesome Batman footage proceeded by two hours of Gordon and the police force talking over donuts.

Rogue One was a solid 8 out of 10 star wars movie, does have slight pacing issues and this is why i prefer TFA over it as its more fast paced.

It's not just him, though. Modern directors have a hell of a time trying to pace.

I just watched it for the first time today. While watching it, I got to thinking about how bad the first half hour was and how if the original STAR WARS had been followed the pattern of this film, we'd start of with Luke Skywalker being bored, then cut to Han and Chewey getting out of a situation that takes them to Tatooine, then a scene with Princess Leia, then a scene with Ben Kenobe sensing something was happening in the sky abov, back to Luke, back to Han, etc......
It made me appreciate the linear aspect of the original SW story. We didn't meet people until they were necessary for the plot. And we sure as hell weren't burdened with unecessary plot details.

All of Rogue One is unnecessary.

Hey Mr. Cosby, did this conversation happen before or after the movie?
