Rewatched Scandal of 1920 for the first time since 2018 (oof). It’s just as good as I remembered it—fun and funny and fast-paced, and very well-made and well-acted. I should probably revisit that. Wonder if they'll put it on Disney+ or if it isn't included already?

I wish more people remembered it/knew it existed in the first place. If for no other reason than to remind the audience somebody else has already played Indy, so it would be ok to recast for future films.

Everyone knows or at least most people know that the Indiana Jones prequel was played by someone else and plenty of people have managed to live fulfilling lives knowing River Phoenix played Indiana Jones too.

I don't think they do. More to the point, people seem to be very against the idea of recasting Indy for no good reason. Several different actors have played James Bond, Batman, Superman, etc., yet people seem to balk at the idea of recasting a younger Indy instead of using a, 80 year old Harrison Ford. The point is there's already precedent for it.

I don't see why. They had to twist his arm to get him to do the last two, they could've just as easily recast with someone else, without having to push the timeline ahead to match Ford's age. I'm as big an Indy and Harrison Ford fan as you're going to find, but I don't know why we couldn't have recast and told stories from the 1940s instead of the crap in Crystal Skull and this next one. And don't get me wrong, I'll see Dial of Destiny in the theater on opening night. But there's no way it's going to be able to recapture the magic of the originals. At the very least they could've had an action hero of a plausible age.

I’ve always wanted to watch these. They seem like something I’d be into.

They'd have no choice but to recast with a younger actor.
