Doggystyle is one of the greats. Snoop peaked early. Yeah, most definitely. From his debut on "Deep Cover" with Dr. Dre, and his appearances on both The Chronic and Doggystyle, Snoop released his best work early on. He's still an entertaining presence, but I prefer him more in guest appearances (which he still does great work) and select hit singles than on full albums. It Takes A Nation of Millions by Public Enemy (which was mentioned by other posters) is certainly a classic record and a good place to start. I would also suggest Raising Hell by Run D.M.C. It's a good record with two enjoyable MC's spitting fire into the mic and emphasizing lyrical talents.
