Late 80's to about 1994 Nickelodeon was almost too good!
My favorites, chronologically by season 1/ep. 1 airdates (some shows like Pete & Pete had shorts/specials a couple years prior to season 1, so I chose to focus on the actual seasons):
1986-10-06 - Double Dare (Including Super Sloppy Family Double Dare / Family Double Dare into the 90's) 1989-07-14 - Hey Dude 1989-09-04 - Eureeka's Castle 1990-07-04 - Wild & Crazy Kids 1991-02-01 - Welcome Freshmen 1991-03-18 - Get the Picture 1991-03-23 - Clarissa Explains It All 1991-06-01 - Salute Your Shorts 1991-08-11 - Doug 1991-08-11 - Rugrats 1991-08-11 - The Ren & Stimpy Show 1991-08-31 - What Would You Do? 1992-01-04 - Nickelodeon Arcade 1992-08-15 - Are You Afraid of the Dark? (Premiered in 1990 in Canada) 1992-08-15 - Roundhouse 1992-09-19 - Guts 1993-07-11 - Weinerville 1993-09-11 - Legends of the Hidden Temple 1993-09-18 - Rocko's Modern Life 1993-11-28 - The Adventures of Pete & Pete 1994-04-16 - All That 1994-10-08 - The Secret World of Alex Mack 1994-10-15 - My Brother and Me 1994-10-29 - Aaahh!!! Real Monsters 1996-10-07 - Hey Arnold! 1997-07-07 - Figure It Out
NOTE: Nickelodeon didn't introduce anything new in 1995.
So for me, it was good-to-great from around '89-'94.
I never got into Keenan and Kel, The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo, Catdog, Angry Beavers or anything beyond that. Except Figure It Out for some reason.

Nickeodeon was great from 1987 til about 2002. When They cancelled "taina" over the music costs, I was pretty much done with them

90s Nick was the best. My favorites were Kenan and Kel, All That, Cousin Skeeter, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, and The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. The last one gets almost no recognition, I never understood why, compared to the safe fodder kids get fed today, it was edgy how many times a teenage girl was nearly murdered, and all the other dark implications the show had, like a woman being fed to the alligators and actually 'seeing' it? Great stuff.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? Clarissa Explains It All Legends of the Hidden Temple Doug Rugrats I have a lot of memories of watching these. Other things on other channels for kids airing in the same time period: So Weird (the first two seasons were the very last remnant of the '90s Disney Channel before it completely retooled into pop stars with sitcoms) Goosebumps Beetlejuice The Little Mermaid Aladdin Animaniacs Pinky and the Brain Muppet Babies (older, but lots of reruns) Tiny Toon Adventures

Nickeodeon was great from 1987 til about 2002. When They cancelled "taina" over the music costs, I was pretty much done with them Oh yes! They even had great, iconic Nickelodeon promos during that era. I think the people at The Splat are doing a great job to recreate those special memories. They would show those old vintage Nickelodeon promo bumpers that had been long forgotten. I feels great to see all my fave cartoon shows from my childhood. It makes you realize that they sure don't make them like they used to.

My Nickelodeon childhood Had had more than just nicktoons and all that and Kenan & Kel. Come on, I want Nick Arcade, Wild & Crazy kids, What would you do?, Cousin Skeeter, Taina, are you afraid of the dark?, Caitilin's way, Alex Mack, Allen Strange, Roundhouse, Pete & Pete, Clarissa, ETC. I wonder if Sting has any ownership of Cousin Skeeter's theme song, since 702's "Steelo" (Which "Cousin skeeter"s theme song re-worked) sampled The Police.

But that shouldn't be their ONLY focus

It's just like when Nick at Nite keep re-runing Full House for like how many years now, lol? Probably because they have a loyal fanbase. They should show reruns like perfect strangers, family matters, moesha, the parkers, step by step, blossom, mr.belvedere etc to their Nick at Nite schedule. I only watched the later seasons (the ones with Dil and Kimi) from the Rugrats to refresh my memory. I've seen most of the earlier seasons (the ones before Dil and kimi) from the Rugrats too much when I was younger, even though I do think the earlier seasons were the best seasons from the show. I'm just starting to watch reruns of Rocko's Modern Life since it's been such a long time. They need to show The Wild Thornberrys more often. I loved that show.

I LOVED Weinerville, I loved the cartoons they'd show, and the game at the end with 2 kids 'shrunk' down.

There have been plenty of complaints on the splat's facebook page. This one person kept wishing death upon Nickeldoeon's president cyma zarghami for the splat's lack of varitey and got himself banned from the facebook page. Then his friends came out and said "His autism did it"

They showed "Budnick and Dina" Salute your shorts & "sir Nigel" Wild Thornberries - Both 2 part episodes. the Splat only aired part 1 of these I linked a few posts where people complain on their facebook page about the line up

One of the few episodes that The Splat doesn't show that often. When I saw the end credits of Hey arnold, I was like WTF what happened to part 2??? lol.

at least "the Parkers" is going to air on VH1 This will give me a chance to DV-R the episodes that were edited on the dvd for music copyright issues. UP edits, censors and skips entire episdoes of their shows, so I don't want to use them to re-obatin the ones that were edited on the dvd
