And yet, somehow, that still won't be high enough stakes for the DCEU fans. To be fair, I kind of doubt that Asgardians will actually be exterminated (at this point, at the very least), but yeah, it sounds like the ending is quite devastating overall. To be fair the whole point of Ragnarok is the old gods die & everything is reborn Odin is swallowed whole by Fenrir to be avenged by one of Odin's sons ripping the wolf's jaws apart. Thor kills Jormungandr but only takes 9 steps before succumbing to the serpent's poison. Surtr kills Freyr. Loki & Heimdall kill one another.

Not all the Old Gods die, some survive and they move elsewhere to restart. Ragnarok isn't the apocalyptic end of everything, it's just the end of one cycle and start of a new one.

Yeah, it sounded to me like Christians were trying to sell Christianity. All the old God's die & we restart in an idyllic garden ..
