The French Fry thread made me think of this. Do any of you do any deep fat frying of your own at home? I've made my own French Fries at home, using a deep fat fryer, and they are delicious. I get to season them or put together dips for them any way I want. Beats fast food joints by a mile.
I've heard that deep frying in things other than oil - say, beef tallow, or rendered duck fat - is supposed to be excellent, too, but I've never tried it. Not yet, anyway. It's on my list of food ideas to try.

I wanna try one of those air fryers.
I had a samsung smart oven that I had to get rid of to move. But i made home made fries on that and it was great
