Saw it last night. Not bad...but not as smart as it thinks it is. And some of the reveals and twists were either missing the mark or rather cheap pops when all was said and done.
Couple of cool kills tho. As is often the case with the Saw films, too many characters to really care that much about any of them.

Things I liked:
-felt like a return to the less bloody, more simple days of the first two where the traps weren't that OTT (minus that silly laser death)
-I didn't see Logan being the first guy that "died" coming. I also liked that, for once, Kramer realized "this is kind of a stupid reason to torture someone, I'm gonna let him go"
Things I didn't like:
-I accidentally read who the new Jigsaw was, but still, I don't think I would have been that shocked if I hadn't. Plus, did it HAVE to be yet another "secret apprentice"? Why can't it ever be just some sick copycat?
-I can't believe they were trying to make us think John Kramer was still alive. Obviously not. And once you saw Tobin Bell walking around, you knew this was all in the past and these people were long dead. Saw IV called, they want their twist back.
-honestly, that guy who got his leg cut off should have lived. Yeah, it was his fault it got stuck in the first place, but he still severed it to save the other two. Plus his reason for being there was dodgy. That car accident was barely his fault.
-characters in these movies always have to suffer from chronic stupidity. Why didn't that guy pull the break once she momentarily stopped the spinning? Why didn't they test the needles? Ugh. I'd probably rank it fourth, after I, II, and VI.

I agree with pretty much all of that.
The needle part and the handbrake part were particularly forehead smacking. She says out loud 3.52 or whatever...and then it's like...no idea what to do. And the handbrake moment was just so...sigh.
