LEGO Batman Movie opens in over 4000 theaters
opening=90M
Fifty Shades opens in 3700 theaters
opening=34M
John Wick opens in 2900 theaters
opening=23M
What do you guys think?

John Wick? That's "On Demand" stuff. Won't get anywhere near 23 mill. The LEGO Batman movie will be big. And I say your prediction for "Fifty Shades" is spot on.

I think Split may outdo John Wick, but barely. I see this as a virtual tie.

I think Split will remain in top 5, but below John Wick. Split already did incredible numbers for its budget

It may be a bit high, but I see John Wick as something as a cult hit. Sort of like how the first Pitch Perfect didn't do great in theaters, but the second one took off. I don't expect Pitch Perfect numbers, but I expect an improvement from the first John Wick. I do think that reviews do matter in this type of film. If the word of mouth is good, I could see this film possibly reaching that number. I guess we'll see following this weekend.
as a side note, the first John Wick did 14.5 M on opening weekend. It opened against Ouija and St Vincent and a played out Gone Girl. Not much competition and in a fall opening date. We'll see how a Valentines day release works for this type of movie.

Well, I was quite a bit off on all of my predictions. Especially Lego Batman. I expected I was a bit high to begin with, but according to Deadline, Lego Batman is expected to open with 54 Million(which is a very good performance, just thought it would be higher). I expect it to have some great legs though with it's A- Cinema Score. Next movie to open that is geared toward kids is Beauty and the Beast or Boss Baby in March.
Both John Wick 2 and Fifty Shades 2 over performed expectations. Looks like John Wick will double its first movies performance. It could also have good legs as the reviews and Cinema Score are higher than the first movie.
Fifty Shades on the other hand had to make it's money during opening week this movie will be heavily frontloaded.

Lego Batman Movie 54.5 Million
Fifty Shades Darker 48.3 Million (wow)
John Wick 2 29.6 Million
