petrolinoFrom your list of recommendations I'm currently viewing The Beach Girls (1982). How many late 70's/early 80's beach movies did actor James Daughton appear in anyway? He must have been the go-to-guy for these movies back then.

I'm a big fan of 'The Beach Girls'. Debra Blee made several beach movies in the 1980s. I wish she'd worked more though, terrific actress.

Well it's in the off season here in Myrtle Beach in the midst of another damn Tropical storm. But I'd thought I'd contribute. Although they aren't technically Beach movies. They still give me a Sunny vibe...
"Pyjama Party" "Rome adventure" "Palm Springs weekend"

Two Spring Break movies were made in 1984 Spring Break and Where the Boys Are '84, correct? Sean Cunningham's 'Spring Break' (1983) and Jim Sotos' 'Hot Moves' (1984) hit the beach bigtime for fun and frolics. I'd like to seen Hy Averback's 'Where the Boys Are '84' (1984) but I think the dvd has long gone out of print.

petrolinoDon't think I've ever heard of Hot Moves, but the poster is basically the same as the one for Screwballs (1983).

George Bowers' comedy 'Private Resort' (1985) gets coastal down in Florida.
Another movie I'd like to see is Paul Madden's 'Summer Job' (1989), one of several highly regarded '80s teen comedies that badly needs a dvd.

Screwballs is the first of a trilogy, I had no idea. You know what they say, all great trilogies come in threes!

Screwballs is the first of a trilogy, I had no idea. You know what they say, all great trilogies come in threes! There's also a spin-off for younger viewers that riffs equally on 'Meatballs' (1979) and is shot by 'Screwballs' cinematographer Miklos Lente, 'Oddballs' (1984). Nice movie.
'SCTV' director John Blanchard contributed the tv movie 'Screwball Academy : Loose Ends' (1986) which I consider a failure. Sadly, I've not seen Brad Turner's 'Goofballs' (1987).
Miklos Lente left Hungary to live and work in Canada. Other Hungarian directors welcomed by the Canadian filmmaking community include Nicolas Gessner ('The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane'), Peter Medak ('The Changeling'), George Mihalka ('My Bloody Valentine') and Tibor Takacs ('The Gate'), all of whom contributed greatly to the evolution of Canadian horror cinema.

I'm adding Elvis' Girl Happy (1965), set in Fort Lauderdale during spring break, silly plot, plenty of singing and bikinis! π΄βοΈπ

Seaching with lights if we had any similiar movies in Europa, no we had in some kind of way, but that was called erotica movies made on very low budgets, if any budgets at all. On the other hand we had Brigitte instead...

At last I am able to watch Ski Party (1965), not quite a beach movie, but from the same company with the same cast, just a different setting. Dwayne Hickman and Frankie Avalon attempt their best Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis by dressing as girls. There's even a line where they admit they're not here to "play Some Like It Hot." Lesley Gore sings the famous "Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows" on the bus ride to the ski resort. And James Brown shows up and sings "I Got You (I Feel Good)" making this a more memorable entry into this series. There's even a cameo appearance from Annette Funicello!
