I'll add Slither (1973) to the pile. Seems forgotten now. I really like James Caan but have not seen Sliither. That title makes me think "killer snake movie" but apparently that assumption is wrong. Will look for it, thanks. That title has always made me think killer snake movie too...lol.

Will look for it, thanks. The simplest description is that it's a 'road' movie. But that doesn't really do it justice. Yea don't watch Slither (2006) which is actually giant space slugs.

Little Murders might be worth a shot, so to speak.
Catch-22
I've never seen Greaser's Palace but it had a cult following back then.

The Last Detail, while often blackly comical, is mostly tragic.

I really want to increase the amount of 70's movies that I've seen, and comedies from any era are always so much fun to watch. I've already seen the funny Woody Allen movies from the 70's, Blazing Saddles, The Pink Panther series, just wondering what the gang here finds funny and what I may have missed all these years. Please recommend below, thanks. I I canot believe no one has mentioned the hilarious, satirical 1971 Milos Forman film TAKING OFF.
Or the CHEECH AND CHONG classic UP IN SMOKE.

No love for Animal House? It's better than a lot of the movies mentioned.

Well, I mentioned it on the first day of the thread, but thanks for the clips.

Adéla ještě nevečeřela , Dinner for Adele (1978) Zany, visually inventive, deliriously funny, nothing less from maverick madcap Czechoslovakian director Oldřich Lipský The surreal mystery-comedy is a wonderful satire a parody of pulp thrillers and the mystery genre, specifically lampooning, Nick Carter. Carter is a fictional dime novel private detective from the ever popular detective series which began in 1886. "America's most famous detective" is urgently summoned to Prague at the beginning of the 20th century to help solve the case of what he believes to be a missing person of importance. Michal Dočolomanský plays Nick Carter in a brilliant lead performance as the charismatic master detective he is supported by a standout cast of eccentric characters, the wonderful setting with a backdrop of Prague is a highlight. Creative gadgets are a feature, a wonderfully original comedy, a pulp detective mystery with a dash of light horror and a touch of sci-fi.... Highly Recommended Nick on the case...

Having recently rewatched Annie Hall (1977) and National Lampoon's Animal House (1978), I can hereby attest to them both retaining their funniness!

Take the Money and Run 1969 Woody Allen ('60s but kicked off Woody's movie career)
The Italian Job 1969 Peter Collinson ('60s but very '70s in spirit)
Catch-22 1970 Mike Nichols (satire with the odd belly laugh)
There Was a Crooked Man… 1970 Joseph L. Mankiewicz (comedy western butchered by the studio)
The Ruling Class 1972 Peter Medak (I loathe this film, but it has many fans)
O Lucky Man! 1973 Lindsay Anderson (satire)
Silver Streak 1976 Arthur Hiller
Fawlty Towers 1-6 (TV series) 1975 John Howard Davies (all on YouTube) Fawlty Towers 7-12 (TV series) 1979 Bob Spiers (all on YouTube)

The Sting - how could you go wrong with Paul Newman and Robert Redford as grifters The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie - a classic if you like Luis Bunuels surrealism Being There - Peter Sellers doing a better job than Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump as a simple but wise man influencing history Dark Star - early but good John Carpenter Three Women Brewster Mcloud California Split - Three of his best if you are a Robert Altman fan, or want to be Slaughterhouse Five - a classic from Kurt Vonnegut The Abominable Doctor Phibes - Who wouldn't love Vincent Price visiting the 10 plagues of Egypt on his enemies The Rocky Horror Picture Show - see it with friends who like to dance and lots of alcohol
