Contrary to popular belief the upside down cross is not an evil symbol. It's a Catholic symbol known as the Cross of St. Peter, because Peter was crucified upside down. Since the pope is the heir of St. Peter it's become a symbol of the papacy.
The use of it as an anti-Christian symbol is a mix of ignorance and anti-Catholic prejudice.

Thanks for sharing that with us cdull. I can honestly say I don't know much about Christian and Catholic symbols but I know TV shows and movies often do make mistakes with things like that and don't research things properly before filming the episodes. It is lazy writing but you know what 'Arrow' has been like in previous seasons and the characters they have like Anarky and Prometheus are nothing like the original characters from the comic books.

While it annoying I understand the upside down cross has a long history as a Satanic symbol that will probably never go away. I'm actually more upset with "The Legends of Tomorrow" episode with Helen of Troy where they got so much wrong about Hollywood and the Trojan War.So after those two mistakes I was surprised "The Flash" went with Aaron Kosminski as the identity of jack the Ripper.
Just reading that I realize I have very weird hobbies. Maybe I should rethink my life.
