What to say about this low-budget effort? It has a certain charm and I love the awful picture quality. It's too amateurish, though. But the possessed woman banging the sticks together is creepy A.F. That stayed with me ever since I saw the trailer as a kid.

The filming on this movie seems to bare quite a resemblance to the 1977 film - The Hills Have Eyes . Of course the story is very different it's made to be the creepy yet intriguing old historic legend type storyline which seems effective just the same . Although surprisingly I have never seen or heard of this film this trailer does provide a really good interpretation of what this film is about to me it does look like a good one to discover . Thanks so much NxNWRocks for this movie recommendation , this films trailer , and your subject post .

While "Scalps" might be low-rent, and scuzzy, still there's a real surreal atmosphere and sinister sting to its tail that lends well to its raw, off-kilter supernatural slasher quality. Definitely one of my favourite films by Fred Olen Ray. His work (especially 80s & 90s) has really grown on me over time.

This title activated my memory banks, not sure if I ever saw it or just discussed it with my friends. I probably read the VHS box in the video store, no way now of knowing if I saw it or not. Saw so many random horror movies on VHS in the 80's, more than once I've started watching something only to have 80's flashbacks and realizing I'd already seen it. I didn't really start tracking what movies I watched until later on.
