That sounds like some bullshit right there. The same guy had this in Man of Steel. So it's a problem because they lingered on Wonder Woman's figure for a moment but it's ok when it's the male Superman? You think that scene was done for story purposes? Wonder Woman had an entire scene where Chris Pine was just standing there completely naked for god's sake. Guys walk the street shirtless of their own free will. Many who shouldn't do it. Hey. Never any mention of Drax's regular state of undress? Admitting bare chest isn't always sexy?

Then why did you start his thread? Sexual exploitation of Wonder Woman can be considered a bug or a feature. Either view is suitable for this thread.

there is nothing at all wrong with men preferring men! The lady doth protest too much, methinks Did you discover that by trial and error, tiger? No luck with Ackbar?

Well after watching it, there are some real close up shots of WWs ass quite a lot but it isnt as bad as the reviewer said. The Amazonians outfits weren't too lewd or distracting either.

Then why did you start his thread? Notice the OP only claimed he liked WW "sex kitten" outfit once someone insinuated (understandably) he might prefer guys. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) King kong then rushed to overcompensate thus "proving" he was a "real" man. Poe... No homo. okay?

Most action blockbusters will "exploit" the lead star's sexual attractiveness. Nothing new there.

Just saw it and there is a difference. Lingering on someone's physique is different than upskirt shots (there were several of them in JL). Showing her in a flattering pose like they do with the male stars would be an admiration of the female form instead of a "creepy" thing. So basically, you are gay? There is more to it than a black and white thing. I enjoy watching a beautiful woman dancing for instance...but find "twerking" to be ....kinda repulsive. You can photograph the same woman looking two different ways as well. If she is photographed like a whore it's not as sexy to me. (cue someone claiming I just said WW is photographed like a whore)

I just watched JL and nowhere there did I see a shot of Diana that was sexually gratuitous. All the shots of her were standard superhero shots that were no different from the angles taken of her male co-stars. In fact, the closest you get to a "butt shot" was taken when WW was with the male superheroes, so theu all got the same angled shot. Just so happens that she was wearing a skirt, so you get to see a whole lot of leg instead of the usual tights and spandex.
The shot itself isn't sexual, it's up to the viewer to decide if it is.

If a woman does so of her own free will But women have been objectified for ages. Diana is a warrior. Her people are warriors. When you see a group of military guys walk by, are you thinking of the service they do, or are you looking at their asses? Drax. Why does no one go on about Drax? You run down all the other guys as an excuse. I think Drax is adorable, funny, awkward. No. I don't think of him as sexy, but he is shirtless most of the time.

Besides, female gymnasts wear pretty much a one-piece swimsuit. It's easier to move with less clothing. And WW's armor, as minimal as it is, does provide more protection than Superman's unitard.

Both represent my father for different reasons so I don't look to superheroes as sex objects. I look at them as mythic heroes. Something to inspire us to be better Protectors of the weak. Defenders of their chosen area. Chris Hemsworth is hot, but Thor is still noble & honorable, a protector who goes all out.

Female characters are always going to be sexually exploited in movies. It is one of those things that is never going to change which is why male characters should be equally sexually exploited in movies. Do you want to know what is more offensive? How many characters Marvel has hetero-normalized in their movies.
DC gave us a lesbian Batwoman in Batman Bad Blood that had a female love interest but Marvel can't give us one and has had 3 characters that identify as LGBTI in the comic books in their movies but they scrubbed any sign of their sexuality away. It is not just offensive it is fucking homophobic and makes me sick.
