You do realise that Victors dad studying the motherbox is straight from the comics and predates the Avengers movie? You do realise that Steppenwold/Parademons is straight from the comic books. I don't agree that Avengers was a crappy movie, I think it was a terrific movie. Sadly the bar slipped in AoU to dreadful. Is the involvement of the Motherboxes in Cyborg's origin a retcon or were they always there? It's a retcon.

The superpals fight was Vision fighting the Avengers in Ultron, except Vision came to his senses quicker. Victor's dad studying the motherbox as an energy source in no way reflected Howard Stark/cosmic cube? Steppenwolf/parademons = Loki/Chitauri. Didn't we already do the teraform bit in Man of Steel? You do realise that Victors dad studying the motherbox is straight from the comics and predates the Avengers movie? You do realise that Steppenwold/Parademons is straight from the comic books. Someone else out there know whether in all his work with SHIELD if Howard Stark studied the Cosmic Cube? I know it first appeared in 1966. Howard Stark first appears in 1970. The New Gods appeared in 1971. I never collected Iron Man comics.

The story regarding the motherbox is in Justice League Origin by Geoff Johns, reproduced in animated version in Justice League: War. The motherbox is the reason that Victor Stone is horrifically injured and requires the suit. Previously to this it was an interdimensional portal that brought about the injuries. So it has always been there.

It looks like the motherboxes came in during the New 52 That puts it about the same time as Captain America & Howard Stark.

Thanks all for the quick refresher. merh , formersamhmd , chasallnut Cyborg appears to have a complex history. I've never been a huge fan and I would have preferred that they started off this iteration of movie JL with a proper Green Lantern instead.

The superpals fight was Vision fighting the Avengers in Ultron, except Vision came to his senses quicker. So what was Tony Stark's contingency plan? Oh yeah, unlike Batman, dumb-ass Tony Stark had no contingency plan.

Cyborg should be cracking jokes with Beast Boy in the Teen Titans. But I think he did quite well in this movie.

Oh yeah, unlike Batman, dumb-ass Tony Stark had no contingency plan. You mean like how he had a plan in case Superman came back messed up and even Lois didn't work? Oh that's right, he didn't have one and it was just dumb luck Lois worked instead of him killing her too.

If you’re trying to beat BvS for the most Razzie Awards, there is absolutely no reason. If you're trying to achieve the worst opening weekend for the DCEU, you better not try to copy the Avengers. A decade of spectacular success is exhausting. If you want to avoid all that, under no circumstances should you copy the Avengers. DC should keep doing what it’s doing! It's really hard to wrap my mind around the fact that Justice League grossed $20 million less on it's opening weekend that MoS - a solo movie released in 2013. Talk about a massive FK U from the general audience. And you have to take inflation into account.

The Avengers was a crappy movie. Why copy a piece of crap like The Avengers. Justice League is a much better movie than The Avengers. Why don't you ask just about every studio in Hollywood, because ever since The Avengers came out in 2012 everybody's been hopping onto the "shared cinematic universe" train and building up to major crossover events. Everybody from Paramount to Universal to yes Warner Bros. wants a piece of that pie, and why not? The Avengers, contrary to how you perceive it as being, was a major box office success and a critical success too. Pretty much the vast majority of people on the planet view it as being a good movie. The same cannot really be said for every DCEU film with the exception of Wonder Woman, the reviews are not glowingly positive and general audiences and longtime fans of DC are split on them, and this has continued with Justice League - I enjoyed the movie, but I can see why its not something critics are eating up and calling a fine dish. What makes the film work are the character interactions, but the story is so basic you can summarize it in a singular sentence and there are not really any layers beneath the surface to make the re-watch value any better than the first time around. Visually it is even a step-down from the other movies that came before it - both Gotham City and Metropolis feel pretty fake a lot of the time and very stagey in moments. They both felt like real places in Man of Steel, BvS, and Suicide Squad.

RottenTomatoes says otherwise Rotten Tomatoes means nothing.......unless it is praising a movie you like, then it is undisputed proof. We know this, but DC-Fan is such a hypocrite when it comes to Rotten Tomatoes you cannot pass up the opportunity to call him on it. First its they are biased towards DC, then they are perfectly sound when in the case of Wonder Woman. The guy cannot make up his mind.

The thing about that is that you can copy something by using your existing material. It's the same thing with X-men: Days of Future Past (the movie) and Terminator 2. It's not the parts that make it a copy, but the sum of those parts. You have a horned villain that comes through a portal. He creates minions from people around him (parademons are just transformed people). He's looking for an alien cube. He has a long handled weapon. How many times have we seen them try to push Wonder Woman as the leader of the Justice League? It's always Superman or, if he's not there, Batman. But they got the rich tech guy taking a backseat for the old character that fought in a world war with a shield...

Stargate is not what daddy said he was studying. Daddy was looking for an energy source, same as Howard Stark. Short of daddy being a monster, junior would be an accident victim. This isn't Robocop where they chop off unwanted limbs

I'm changing storage units My work is moving me So too much to do in not enough time I have jury duty next week. Some idiots keep vandalizing my workplace (So maybe changing locations isn't a bad thing) So, yeah, it's been a lot of pressure. And then this same old, same old DC vs Marvel crap.
