Hush was a little too dull for me. I'm not a fan of that director at all.
You're Next was great though. I'd like to see more original work from the director- no more adaptations or remakes.

Hush by a long way. You're Next is fun enough, but it's dumb and meaningless. It's got it's amusing moments, but Hush at least tried to have a real character and take a different approach. Between those two directors I'd choose Flanagan by a mile. I haven't seen Blair Witch yet, but as I understand it it's among the lower end of the horror releases this year, while Gerald's Game is definitely toward the top of the list, for me at least.

You're Next is both one of my favorite home invasion movies and my favorite slashers in a long time. Everything about it just clicked for me, especially the dry dark humor. Like another poster said, I wish Wingard would stick to movies like that and The Guest, though I am interested in his Kong vs Godzilla movie (so long as he isn't fired because of Blair Witch and Death Note).
Hush was okay enough. But the bad guy wasn't intimidating at all.

You're Next which seems almost forgotten now.

I guess You're Next is better from having more characters, and more going on, but I liked Hush's stripped-down approach, too.

You're Next by a mile, it is one of my favourite horror movies because of a lot things, such as the dark humour, fight/kill scenes, capable final girl, etc. I actually liked Hush, especially the premise, but felt it was drawn-out just to be a full-length movie. IMO Hush would've worked much better as a short movie, about half-an-hour tops.

Damn, You’re Next really stomped this poll. But I’m going with Hush anyway.

You're Next was a good bit of fun and was actually surprising at points. Hush took itself more seriously, was earnest, and had a more interesting central character than any of the characters in You're Next. Both were well shot and had well staged sequences. They're very close in quality I'd say even though they're very different while have very similar premises.
I'll just go with Hush becuase I liked the character/lead actress more than any person in You're Next and because I like Mike Flanagan way more than Adam Wingard.

Man, those poll results are the equivalent of Erin vs the bad guys.

Man, those poll results are the equivalent of Erin vs the bad guys. I’ll say this: You’re Next is only better solely for that protagonist, Erin. She’s probably in the Top 10 final girls ever. I liked the deaf girl in Hush too as a character (and she was even badass to an extent being able to take on the killer all by herself while having no sense of hearing jack all) but I mean, c’mon...it’s goddamn Erin.

Ha, just scrolled up and saw my earlier post. I guess I changed my tune a little bit. Still similar sentiments I guess though.
