Or Vide President, whomever at the end of last year's Invasion crossover; and yet the FBI is crawling all over who the Green Arrow and trying to bring Oliver down.
I mean, I get it, he's acting outside the law, but there still seems to be an incongruity; the Green Arrow, to say nothing of Mick Rory and the supposedly dead Sara Lance, are part of the effort that stopped an alien invasion, and they're all trotted out to be given a standing ovation by Generals, et al - and they even brought last year's invasion up now - and I wondered if they were going to acknowledge the accolades everyone got, maybe call in a favor or something, but it ends up meaning nothing. Obviously they want to drag this all out, but there are obviously other ways, especially now in contrast to season 1, that they could just nip this in the bud. They could use HR's face disguising tech to put Oliver and the Green Arrow in the same room; the Waverider could give Oliver a lift and pop back a day for the same effect (which, I know, there'd be quibbles over the improper use of their time machine, and the potential paradox it might cause, but when has that stopped the so-called "legends"? Never mind that Flash does the whole masked crime fighting thing and is the hero of his city; and there's been nary a mention of the anti-Flash taskforce or talk about how he's a vigilante in ages...
Say what you will about the Adam West Batman series, one concept that I've always found intriguing was how they said in the movie that Batman and Robin weren't vigilantes, and were in fact deputized law enforcement agents of the Gotham PD; in spite of the fact that their identities were kept secret, event from Gordon and O'Hara.

You bring up an excellent point. After doing something like helping to save the world and be commended by the vice president in front of a bunch of generals it's hard to accept that the Green Arrow and company would be treated this way. And it's not just by this fanatical FBI agent. What about the anti-vigilante bill? Why have none of it's opponents brought up last years cross-over r the bill face a stiffer challenge because public perception should see Green Arrow as a hero, not a menace.
What this odes is make the cross-over inconsequential because it's like it never happened.

It also got me wondering about the scope of a city passing such a law. I mean, I know comic book cities are often treated like countries unto themselves, and the comics have more sprawling metropolitan cities on the scale of New York and LA than there really are in the US, but just how big and powerful is a place like Star City to enact a piece of legislation like this just for within it's own city limits? Even being a larger city, it's also been impacted by the devastating effects of the Undertaking five years ago, as well as numerous super-powered terrorist attacks in the years since. The police department has been heavily impacted by high levels of turnover through corruption and loss of life; to the point they had to work towards rebuilding the force with new recruits. And what does it even mean for a city of any size to up and change it's name? It would be like if Philadelphia decided to change its name to Phil. So they take up this bill, that gets turned into a referendum, but then what about outside the actual city limits of Star City? I get that the Green Arrow and his team operate predominantly inside the city, but what does it mean for say, the Flash, if he zips in from out of town to pay Star City a visit; he's not considered a problem where he comes from, but does he join the ranks of public enemy just inside Star City? It seems like this would be more appropriate on the level of at least the state legislature, if not federal. But really, it's just a contrived way of adding more conflict, by setting the protagonists at odds with the general public, which isn't a new concept for the genre, let alone Arrow. Every season they feel the need to make Oliver and his team look bad to the general public.

I noticed they have forgotten that already and it is weird how the Flash is seen as a superhero but the Green Arrow is seen as a vigilante when both shows are set in the same universe and one would wonder if the Flash were to publicly stand up for the Green Arrow and his team and say he has worked with them and they are all heroes if it would change the way they are seen. The way they forget about things like that reminds me of what they have done in the new Star Wars movies with Luke, Han and Leia who you would think would have been seen as heroes by everybody in 'The Force Awakens' for defeating the empire and saving the galaxy with the help of the Ewoks in 'Return of the Jedi' when they were clearly celebrating their victory with everybody at the end and then there is James Bond who has saved the world from criminals dozens of times but is always treated as a regular agent and is never really praised by M and the others for being a hero but I think his actions outside of work might play a part in that.

The thing that annoys me is how smug the agent is, like ok you think he's the GA, a violent and deadly vigilante known to have killed and evade police with ease, so you publicly humiliate him in front of his child, influence voter confidence in him as he stands behind political agenda's and generally act like a douche, what sort of fucking idiot does this?
I mean yeah we know he is the GA but we know Oliver isn't a mindless killer. she doesn't why the fuck is she provoking one of if not the most deadly normal human beings on the planet constantly and walking around as if she is untouchable, I mean common sense would tell me if I have iron clad proof that will put this guy away for life I'm not gonna tell him after I just pissed in his face incase he decides F it I'm screwed anyway and decides to just snap my neck for being a c***.
Also why the fuck is this being made to be an issue, it's a show with direct hook ups to 2 separate groups with time travelling capabilities why haven't they called them for help in showing this whole thing up?
This is what I hate about the Arrowverse, unless you have the sense to explain away the easy solutions don't create stupid fucking problems that have no stakes to them, it's pointless and fucking stupid.

Despite the weak writing that this universe always suffers from, last night's crossover episodes were quite entertaining.
