from the dceu and not even do the solo batman film? thoughts on his rumored replacement (jake gylenhaal) I think he'll at least do The Batman, and then bounce.
But I don't know if I like that because wouldn't that be the beginning of a new Batman solo franchise? If so, do we want a new Batman franchise in which the Batman is re-cast in the second movie? If he leaves I kind feel like he should just leave now so we can start that franchise fresh.

He won't say anything until WB decide what they are going to do. I think he would be willing to pass the baton on in a Flashpoint movie but if WB have anything else in mind, I think he will just stand down.

He'll probably do The Batman. That's still 'separate' from the DCEU, isn't it?

It's anyone's guess now, but I can't see Affleck wanting to turn down working with Matt Reeves and having his own solo Batman movie where all focus can be solely on him.

Wait so.... what am I voting for?
Yes or No he'll announce his departure, or Yes/No he's doing the movie?

If he doesn't do anymore movies then how would they explain how his character went out of it?
There wasn't anything in Justice League to imply he was giving up being Batman.

Look on the bright side, even if they do recast it can't possibly be as bad as the Post-Michael Keaton Batman films of the 90s.

I think we will get our answer after The Batman movie. I think he will at least do that.

The director who took over from Tim Burton, Joel Schumacher, is what ruined that franchise with his insistence to camp things up. Batman Forever is bad, and Batman and Robin is even worse. It just kept downhill.

I read somewhere that they were just going to recast and say nothing about it in the movies. Just have a younger Batman like that was who was there all along.

That was WB. Blame Batman Returns. Parents thought it was too dark so they went super camp.

Slightly OT, but I wonder how a Casey Affleck Batman would fare. I love the dude as a actor, moreso than his brother. Could anyone see him in the role?

Affleck won’t leave if the new Batman film is a major critical success.
