Do you really even need to ask? Of course the Creator is automatically worthy of respect. He gave you life and sets the standards for us humans to live by as it's for our own good. a bit of humility will help here as what your saying sounds like pride and that can be a problem not even to acknowledge something basic like this. God is not the bad guy, satan is. rebelling against God is what satan did and look what happened there So, the question now is.... Can God take a joke? As an agnostic atheist I am pretty sure that this is a non-question, however I am certain that the dude you are quoting can't take any joke that involves his precious God. It is serious business.

Joseph was the Earthly man who raised Jesus. I can't finish the answer if you don't want to hear what I believe the rest to be so I have no clue what the purpose of asking me the question is. I know you can't answer it, without sounding absurd. Jesus was created as all other humans, spermatozoa to ovum. The rest is just nonsensical deluded fantasy k. Or a matter of faith.

VegasInsulting Him and His mother is not exactly a joke, but a insult. this cannot possibly equate to a good thing at the end of the day.

Faith in what though k? That word gets thrown around as a free-from of justification, for not being able to prove or sound credulous, due to deluded fairy tale conditioning. There was no immaculate conception and and there never will be any immaculate conception. That is just a cold hard fact of what we perceive as reality. Do you even know what the 'immaculate conception' refers to?

Do you even know what the 'immaculate conception' refers to? It's a term used to define Mary as being born without sin. It doesn't really refer to how Jesus was conceived.

Do you even know what the 'immaculate conception' refers to? I was referring to the virginal pregnancy conception of Christ, but yes, it is a common misconception to regard this as immaculate conception. The immaculate conception, is just more evasive Catholic rhetoric and hogwash anyway, so who cares. You knew what I meant. Why not be the original blessing, instead of the original sin. It's a more positive way to look our being and purpose for existence on this planet, in this realm\matrix of suffering. It doesn't work if you want to discount faith/theological ideas and act as if the whole thing is too stupid to bother getting the terms correct that you are poo pooing.

Isapop God is not the bad guy, satan is. rebelling against God is what satan did and look what happened there Would you respect someone who stood by and allowed a child to be abused when it was easily within their power to stop it? (Obviously not.) You want to make a case that God deserves respect? Start by giving a good answer to why God has allowed (and continues to allow) Satan with all that attendant evil and suffering to run rampant in this world when he could easily stop it. Otherwise, God is no better than that "someone" in my example. (Answering this is a tall order. Theologians have wrestled with it for centuries.)

It's a term used to define Mary as being born without sin.It doesn't really refer to how Jesus was conceived. She surely sinned then, when she got herself knocked up with baby Jesus. Unless she was raped and didn't enjoy it, then perhaps she might technically still be a virgin. Yeah. The idea that Jesus is God... and therefore Mary is the mother of God... and therefore she herself had to be born outside of sin.. and that she always remained a virgin... is the product of just not-so smart thinking.

tpfkar Isapop It should be obvious because you got Heaven and hell for your final destinations after your time here on earth. I know we all sin, but i would avoid as much of it as you can as it's in your own interest to do so. knowing that God is the good and satan is the bad... so naturally talking crap about God is a bad thing. i would imagine most people know the basics there even if they have not heard or know much else about Christianity, they probably know that much. p.s. i know you probably don't believe in God so chances are you think the bible etc is all fiction but unless your certain God does not exist, which i don't see how someone could think this way with absolute certainty, it seems like a safer bet to avoid talking negativity towards Him. Talking a bit of crap is not likely to send you to hell on that alone. still, it is a sin and sin has punishment which is either paid for in this life or the next before reaching Heaven (this assumes one does not end up in hell as if you end up here, it's for eternity). Do you really even need to ask? Of course the Creator is automatically worthy of respect. He gave you life and sets the standards for us humans to live by as it's for our own good. a bit of humility will help here as what your saying sounds like pride and that can be a problem not even to acknowledge something basic like this. God is not the bad guy, satan is. rebelling against God is what satan did and look what happened there "It should be obvious" and "Of course" followed by pure infantile hoo-hah. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

...which may or may not be shared by others. How do they define faith though, or faith in the virgin birth, when they have no reasonable or logical explanation? It appears like selective and deluded reasoning to me. The irony of religious 'faith' is that it doesn't have to either be defined, reasoned or logical. It seems that people either have this thing called faith, or they don't. To logical reasonable people it is a conundrum. The problem is, that it is quite reasonable for people to choose to have faith, and in many cases it sustains people mentally, emotionally and spiritually. THE PROBLEM is when those people wish to, or in fact DO, impose their faith on others. It becomes even more problematic when those who wish to imposed THEIR faith on others are those in a position of power. Hence we have religious wars, terrorism, abuse of women and children and all manner of other atrocities in the name of their religious 'faith'.

People may need something to hang onto, especially when they can't make sense of life at times, but common sense and personal responsibility also needs to be adhered too. Using faith in a religion, because that is what is conditioned, can be a scapegoat or cop out to avoid other certain attitudes and behaviors. It's passing the buck to a higher entity and feeling that it's ok to be like this, because God will forgive me for I followed his word, and then not taking onus for the suffering that can be inflicted out of ignorance and ego. Yes, thanks, I am usually quite eloquent. What you describe sucks donkey balls~
