Nobody said you can’t say “Merry Christmas” Nobody said you can’t call it a Christmas tree Nobody is preventing you from celebrating Christmas any way you want to. If you say that you ARE being forbidden these things, you are a liar. The “War On Christmas” is something you made up, pulled out of your butt, to justify being upset that your religion isn’t given special treatment as though it were the only religion. That’s how freedom works. As soon as you can stop whining and get over your faux sense of persecution then we can all go about celebrating whatever holidays we choose in whatever way we like and expressing ourselves with Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, or Bah Humbug – as we like it. Tell that to Drumpf and Fox News

And nobody but the deepest of swamp creatures have ever claimed otherwise. If you think Fox News or that orange creature in office represent Christianity, you are a complete fool. And you are using extreme examples to talk of "faux sense of persecution," thinking that gives you leverage to extend the term to other scenarios, like religious freedom, where Christians very much are being oppressed throughout the Western world.

I gotta say, man, I've now heard that "war on Christmas" thing from five different church sermons in entirely different areas of the southern US. Not exactly an empirical study but I think that sense of persecution goes a little beyond the "deepest of swamps". It's a pretty common theme around this time of year in your run-of-the-mill church.

In related news, Rick Wiles, far-right radio host and all around horrible person, said on his show yesterday:
It must be great to be able to move bag and baggage into your own fantasy world and be able to totally ignore Reality.
