They make their own cabbage rolls there. Fantastic. The black rye bread is very dense and strong-flavored.

...the Polish call these "guwumpki's" (SP?) and at a good Polish Deli these are the very best and are always home made style...

In Russian they're called "golubtsy"... and yes, the ones I get at this little Russian/Ukrainian deli are made on the premises by the proprietor's wife and daughter. They hail from Ukraine. They also have a tiny restaurant attached to the deli. They serve some awesome Slavic dishes. The golubtsy are a sheer treat for me.
