Dear Foodies:
Well, I was surprised when I found this out from my friend who was born in Kashima, Japan. It is tea or beer.
Sake is not truly acceptable as it is made from fermented rice, just like sushi rice and you are having rice with rice.
Who knew???
PS......I love uni sushi and my friend thinks that is gross.
This is my favorite pairing.

I knew this, but I just love the taste of dry sake. I'm not fond of beer.

I prefer tea with sushi and sake with other Japanese food. Totally a preference thing for me. And I go with cold sake 9 times out of 10. Heading to Zenkichi in Brooklyn next week with the Mrs. for our 5-year anniversary dinner. One of the best Japanese places I've ever been to. It's not a sushi restaurant, but they have sashimi dishes. It's more akin to a tapas place in that their plates are generally smaller so you can try different things and share them. Two people can generally get 3-4 appetizers and 2-3 entrees between them. If you're ever in Brooklyn and in need of a top-notch fix, this is the place. Zenkichi

I don't eat that shit, it's disgusting. I'll have a rare steak anyday, but fish should always be cooked. I once pan fried leftover sashimi in a little butter and it was delicious! That's how fish should be eaten.
