Did everyone watch it last night? I thought it was a little over the top but I think the introduction of Reign was handled pretty well.

It was okay. As usual, it seems weird for Kara to go toe to toe with Reign and get her ass handed to her, while at least three super-powered beings sit at the DEO twiddling their thumbs.
The Jimmy/Lena thing seems out of nowhere. Can't help but think they want to squash any thoughts of Lena having a thing for Kara. Plus, heaven forfend you have two single characters who don't at least consider hooking up with each other.

I thought it was very strange that they didn't treat it as a DEO operation like they usually do. However, the fight scene was better than I expected it to be.

It wasn't bad.
I liked the fight Supergirl vs Reign fight scene more than any of the superhero movie fight scenes and it was far from perfect but wasn't overdone with special effects or looked cheap but really Kara? You can't recognise that is your friend when the mask only covered half her face. I could tell it was Sam the whole damn time and I don't know her.

It's a comic book thing. It actually goes back much further than that. I think there's a play by Shakespeare where a father doesn't recognize his own son because he changed his clothes.

I thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed the fighting scene between Supergirl and Reign and while I still think it would have been better if the show had used the original character from the comic books in her alien form it was better handled than I thought it would be and nowhere near as bad as their adaptions of some other characters they have done in the 'Arrowverse.' I think Sam is going to be the main key to defeating Reign and her daughter will play a part in it and rather than having Supergirl defeat Reign I think they will have Kara discover Sam is Reign but she can't control it and it is like being possessed by a demon and she will try to get through to Sam to push Reign out of her head.
Speaking of adaptions though I am extremely disappointed with their adaption of Saturn Girl so far. Apart from the writers making her 'The Other Woman' which I just hate the character is nothing remotely like Saturn Girl at all and it is one thing to not have her as a blonde but where the heck are her psychic powers? Saturn Girl is supposed to be REALLY powerful and she should actually be able to defeat Reign herself by removing Reign from Sam's head which she has done for other possessed people and why is she not dressed in red and white or pink and white? Red and white are main colours and in the comics Imra says they are her favourite colours!!

I'm ambivalent about her not being blonde; my best guess is they wanted to make her visually different from Kara, which I can understand to a degree. Though having a similarity in appearance could have added to the drama. Just the same, surely they could have picked any other Legionaire to pair Man-eater; and if they wanted to make that distribution, they could have picked a woman who looked more distinctly different. The lack of demonstration of her powers is weird, and for them to have formed the Legion in honor of Kara, surely they would have worn costumes/suits. They went all year not giving Mon one, even after Jimmy suited up; and 7 years later (for him) he still doesn't have one? I don't care for Mon-el being the founder of the Legion? What about RJ Brande?

What about RJ Brande? It doesn't look like RJ Brande is going to be mentioned on 'Supergirl' but from the articles I read earlier this year Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad and Braniac 5 were all said to appear on 'Supergirl' this season and I am interested in seeing what they do with Lightning Lad 'cause he is Saturn Girl's main love interest in a lot of the comic books and I have a feeling if we get a show about 'The Legion' Imra will leave Mon-El for Lightning Lad. I have been thinking about their portrayal of the character in the show and I am starting to think she might not have her psychic powers yet and she will only start to get them in the second half of the season or she already has them and isn't aware of them and she will find out about them later. I also think they will make it that she takes up the name Saturn Girl after Supergirl and I am hoping they have her and Kara become friends but making 'The Other Woman' was a really bad idea and so insulting to a character that should have been introduced as her own superhero and not Mon El's Wife.
