It's sandwiched between Logan and Beauty and the Beast. And all the articles I found wind up talking about LOGAN instead.

I'm guessing at least 50 million. Though it could end up doing lot more: everyone loves monster movies, and as 'Jurassic World' proved, those films don't even need to be particularly good in order to find a huge audience. 'Skull Island' has average to good reviews, so I'd say the ceiling is around 80 million. The film looks completely bonkers and I can't wait to see it (I've made my peace with the fact that it apparently concentrates on the fun and pretty much misses out on the drama).

Kong should make about 50M. I do think Kong should do respectable numbers internationally as well. I think Kong will be a good start to the "big monster" franchise and maybe the end of Kong will hint at the direction of the Godzilla vs Kong. I'm looking forward to this movie. March is going to be great.

Chances are that they're probably banking on China for the film to turn a profit.

I really enjoyed Skull Island. Much more than I expected to. I hope it is able to make a profit. It would be nice to see it hit 600 million world wide.

Break even at 492M ? No It needed 370M to break even and currently( updated numbers from china) it's at 522M worldwide and will likely cross Godzilla(529M) this weekend.

Looks like it'll be more profitable then Godzilla, kinda weird imo. I haven't seen the movie yet but I'm glad it is doing well considering the competition in March.

Skull Island was amazing. Didn't drag too much at the start, unlike Godzilla, they showed the monster, Kong, a lot more than Zilla was shown in Godzilla and the action scenes were cool. And to top it all off, it was pretty damn funny. It deserves every penny it's made

Can't wait for Kong v Godzilla. Thanks Skull Island. It doesn't hurt to see a giant monster movie every once in a while

I guess being what it was advertised helped spread good word of mouth. Actually, it didn't have a great word of mouth. With an opening of 61 m the movie made 167 m domestically. Great word of mouth has at least a 3x multiple...that's 3 rimes the opening, that would be 183 million domestically. But i would say it had ok word of mouth, the movie didn't burn at the box office. And the final worldwide gross is 564 million, which is a good number I guess, WB is probably happy
